Thanks for your note.

I don't know much about this source -- don't know the basis of its information or who it is -- so can't comment right now, although in general Wikipedia prefers publications that have some sort of peer review or journalistic/academic/scholarly standards and generally discourages private websites except for the opinions of notable individuals/organizations. (See WP:RS). Don't have time to look into this source right now. For the time being, why not cite the source in the article, identify whose opinion is being expressed, and perhaps simply say "may be" rather than "most probably is"? We can look into the source involved later. Best, --Shirahadasha 17:12, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Infobox for names

edit

I see that you are editing pages about names. You might like to add an Infobox like the one that User:Hmwith has put on several pages like Zechariah. Just a suggestion! Keep up the good work, Fayenatic london (talk) 18:23, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rubel / Louvre in Claymore

edit

Is that information properly sourced on the Japanese Wikipedia? If not, it's original research, and the anon editor was right in deleting it. We can't really use another Wikipedia as a reliable source for such statements - since anyone can edit it. --Darkbane talk 11:37, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Alright, thanks. Keep me posted =) I agree that it sounds very plausible, at least, it's just a problem with it being original research. On the other hand, the case for Orsay sounds more solid at the moment ^_^; But I thought there are b-sounds in Katakana. At least, our wiki page lists some. --Darkbane talk 12:19, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah, okay, I was confused there for a while ^_^;. There's still the problem of the official name. I don't have the Viz manga to check - do they also call him Rubel? --Darkbane talk 12:40, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, let's leave it at that for now. I think the article on Claymore characters has a lot more significant problems than this at the moment, seeing as how the bar for content is so low in anime articles. You're aware of the problem with OR and are taking some steps, that's all I wanted from this talk ^_^ and I'm also grateful for it. --Darkbane talk 13:36, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hang in there, we need more people speaking Japanese doing research on these articles :D --Darkbane talk 17:39, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

In fact, there are no "higher ups" around here. We're all equal editors as far as I understand it =). I don't doubt that it's not invented, it just might be difficult to prove it. But I think that, if you add that "connection" data for the other names that you found, it will lend more credibility to it and will not be challenged as easily.
I actually have a similar case in one of my "own" articles, for Cyrano de Bergerac. It's more painfully obvious, but it's somewhat similar to this case. So if the spelling is quite close, I guess it shouldn't be an issue of original research - since stating the blatantly obvious is not original research. --Darkbane talk 20:46, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Wellber will probably not be famous enough for that list =) It's barely getting any attention right now, and I am probably one of the very few people who actually like it. Claymore, on the other hand, is sure to end up there eventually ^_^; --Darkbane talk 21:27, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rafaela's fighting style in Claymore

edit

Can you say where you got the info from that Rafaela is offensive rather than defensive? I've not read the manga, but from what I know about her, she seems more likely to be defensive. PS4FA 00:30, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Isley head.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Isley head.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:36, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
