Orphaned non-free media (Image:FOLCharmcast.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:FOLCharmcast.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:18, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

I have no idea how to make banners...

I downloaded Gimp, and Microsoft Gif animator, but I don't know how to use them. Can you recommend someone less busy to help me out? Thanks. Lighthead þ 21:53, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your support in my RFA, that didn't quite make it and ended at 120/47/13. There was a ton of great advice there, that I'm going to go on. Maybe someday. If not, there are articles to write! Thanks for your support. Lawrence § t/e 17:56, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

You could have been a bit more civil when reverting that change, as it was made by an IP with no source given and I didn't see the entire thing before I reverted. Probably should've followed through a bit on that, though, as it's right in the article. Justinm1978 (talk) 04:09, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

User:Miranda/notebook

So is there a reason you're stalking me? Justinm1978 (talk) 04:24, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I am making a case for you to be banned. Soapboxing, harassing other users, not assuming good faith, etc. will not be tolerated by me nor others anymore. miranda 07:50, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Justinm: this isn't stalking, it's notes on poor conduct. Anthøny 15:17, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

You and Justinm1978

Have you two tried to talk it out peacefully over either of your talk pages? If not, do you want me to try to mediate? I may be retiring, but I don't want anymore drama (I had my fill for a while). Kwsn (Ni!) 14:29, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

No thanks. miranda 16:00, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw that. I think we should focus on proving our points with evidence, and let him make his rebuttal after we present the evidence to the community. miranda 05:58, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

please try and resolve your differences with Justinm1978 in a reasonable way

Hi! I haven't been involved in this little argument here, nor do I care to to take sides. Although as a disclaimer, I will tell you that I do know Justin IRL, that I am an alumni member of Alpha Phi Omega, and that he contacted me personally and informed me of this issue (though he did not ask me to contact you, I am doing that on my own). That being said, while I do not know you personally, I will not prejudge you.

I've seen your little User:Miranda/notebook, as well as Justinm1978's rebuttal. I don't think you have any grounds whatsoever for a case here, and I would urge you to try and settle your differences in another way, as this is a waste of the mediation committee's time. The only "evidence" that I can see are some disagreements regarding several articles that seem to have gotten a bit heated, but I see no reason to 'community ban' anyone -- seriously, if any type of community ban is enforced, then it should be the both of you, since it takes two to fight.

  • Stalking: Your charges of stalking are bogus. While I can see with [1] that the IP in question does belong to him, I don't see what he did as serious, and it's certainly not stalking. The way I see it, is he either (a) forgot to login or (b) let himself time out.
  • "Wikilawyering" -- merely mentioning the word "slander" does not make the case for this. That's just a joke, and smacks of someone trying desperately to compile any and all evidence to try and take someone down.
  • WP:3RR -- Unless a 3RR complaint was filed very shortly after the incident, and it was dealt with, I don't see accusations of 3RR several months later as serious enough to warrant 'community banning' someone. Plus, your complaint on Talk:Sigma Alpha Mu is actually not a 3RR violation, as I see it (look at the dates of the edits).
  • WP:AFD -- Both of you are guilty of abusing the AfD system, calling for deletion of articles that you know the other cares about. This is not acceptable by either of you, and you both should be ashamed of yourselves.
  • "Assuming bad faith" -- seems to me like both of you are guilty of this, and should probably take a step back, breath a little, and relax. It's easy to blame the other of bad faith when you're involved in a flaming edit war like this one.

Looking at lots of the edits of his that you're complaining about, it seems like many of them can be solved by simply citing sources. A lot of the edits that he's making look like they're due to a lack of cited material, and {{fact}} tag issues. True, maybe Justin could have worked these issues out on the talk page a little better. But I don't see a major problem with deleting information marked with a {{fact}} tag, especially if you make a good effort towards finding an appropriate tag. Anyway, I don't want to dwell on this, because this is just one issue that you guys have with each other.

The bottom line here, is that you calling for a "community ban" on Justinm1978 is rather silly and largely groundless, as this is an issue that has escalated between two users that need to simply come together on their differences and resolve them in a manner other than an edit war. Dr. Cash (talk) 17:56, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

No he has continued his behavior with other users, so this is not just between "me and him". miranda 18:00, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
