Hello Mishbir166, I welcome your contribution and also I have noticed your recent edit on Mahabharat (2013 TV series), where you have done fabricated infomation and violated many rules of wikipedia. This type of edit could make you blocked from wikipedia permanently. I hope you would learn from your mistake and grow. Bests ABCDE22 (talk) 00:01, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Colons to hyphens

edit

Hi there, re: these changes, please stop converting colons to hyphens. Per WP:TVCAST, with the <Cast Member as Character Name> structure present in the Pavitra Bhagya article, the community appears to prefer colons for formatting of cast. Note the following example from the guidelines:

Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes: a former Scotland Yard consultant

And in most cases, hyphens are only used for joining related ideas like "English-language" or "high-tech". Otherwise, we would use en dashes or em dashes where appropriate. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:28, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you're going to go out of your way to add copious English errors as you did here, then you should expect your time here to be very short. If you don't have the skills to write in competent English, then please find other ways to contribute. And stuff like...

Sarabjeet Singh Gill / Sarab-Harleen's brother

...doesn't even make any sense? Why is there a slash? Are Sarabjeet and Sarab two different characters? The same character? Is "Sarab-Harleen" one person's name? Is Sarab a nickname for Sarabjeet? If so, then it was properly formatted before as:

Sarabjit "Sarab" Singh Gill: Harleen's brother

Because in English, when indicating a nickname, it goes within the person's name. Like Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson or Michael "Iron Mike" Tyson. It doesn't go Michael Tyson / Iron Mike or Michael Tyson (Iron Mike). If you don't know these things, then you shouldn't be changing them, and you should be conscious of the fact that slashes /// introduce ambiguities and confusion. And again, please stop using hyphens after a character name. I've already indicated that the community prefers colons. See WP:TVCAST. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:49, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Colons to hypens again

edit

Re: these changes, as previously noted, the community prefers colons or commas, not dashes in cast lists. Read WP:TVCAST, please. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:27, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Stop making problematic edits like this. You don't seem to understand/care what the community prefers and some of these changes introduce problematic punctuation. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:33, 13 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistently making disruptive edits. I'm not sure why this is so difficult, but you need to stop changing punctuation from something the community prefers to something the community does not prefer. We do not use unspaced hyphens in place of colons, and we do not use hypens in place of en dashes. See WP:TVCAST and MOS:DATERANGE. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:09, 18 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
