The article Mission dolores mural has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication of notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GregJackP Boomer! 04:36, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Removal of prod
editBen, I've removed the prod notice. I'll help you with the article, but I recommend using the talk pages to raise any issues since you are connected to the topic as the video artist. Viriditas (talk) 00:31, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Images
editBen, we could really benefit from a donation of a frame from one of your videos or a still image. Let me know if you can donate one or two. Thanks for your good work. Viriditas (talk) 11:55, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! Any chance you can upload another one, except this time a zoom on one small part, such as the heart? We could then put that in the lead section (introduction). Viriditas (talk) 21:38, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Blind's paper
editAny chance you can e-mail or find a link for "Visualizing Past Places: The Mission Dolores Mural", at the California Mission Studies Association Annual Meeting? I went to their website, but didn't see a conference proceeding listed for 2007. The reason I ask is because this would make a great resource for the article. Viriditas (talk) 21:38, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks again. Looks good. Viriditas (talk) 00:42, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't have access to any of his papers. Perhaps you may email him. eblind AT presidiotrust.gov
- Ok, will do. Viriditas (talk) 11:42, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Viriditas I've been blocked. Can you help me protest this? I have written to the administrator about it. What should I do?
these Ohlone are not from the Central Coast of California as has been written in this article. They were from villiages surrounding the San Francisco Bay area http://www.islaiscreek.org/ohlonehistorybackground.html

The central coast runs from about Monterey to about San Luis Obispo
Speedy deletion nomination of Ben Wood
editA tag has been placed on Ben Wood requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Viriditas, I've been blocked. Can you help me?
- Sorry, I just saw this. I'm not at all clear why you were blocked. I will ask the blocking admin. Viriditas (talk) 04:47, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Unblocked
editThis account has been unblocked, as it appears not to be the name of an organization or group. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Cheers, -- Cirt (talk) 18:04, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
