Welcome!
editWelcome to Wikipedia, Misterr Giggles! I am Ged UK and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!
Stats updates
editHi. Good work with updating stats on footballers' infoboxes, but you need to update the field entitled "pcupdate". This needs to be updated as it gives the date of the update, so everyone knows the stats are actually up to date. To do this, type five tildes (~) into the "pcupdate" field in the infobox, and the date of the update will be given. Thanks, Kosack (talk) 20:53, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Stats updates
editJust to quick note, to ask if you can also update the table lower down Joe Colbeck's article when you update the playing stats. Brad78 (talk) 22:09, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Danny Forrest, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. GiantSnowman 01:44, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Don't know how to add a refrence but confirmation is in this link: http://guiseleyafc.co.uk/2011/06/08/lions-sign-striker-ellington/ --Misterr Giggles (talk) 01:50, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- Many thanks, I have added the reference to the article. Should you wish to learn how to reference articles, this page will tell you how. Thanks and regards, GiantSnowman 01:54, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Dave Kevan. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. GiantSnowman 13:32, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Couldn't add a source as there was not one online at the time but it has been reported in the local media and cofirmed by HUFC. A link now available enjoy http://www.clarets-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/kevan_on_way_back_to_stoke_683139/index.shtml
- That is a fan forum kinda site, wouldn't count at a reliable source - let's wait until the club officially announces it, shall we? GiantSnowman 15:26, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Apart from the fact it has been confirmed by Hereford United in the Hereford times. Would I really make something as tedious as this up? Oh here you go http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13894517.stm That was a nice waste of both of our time.
- Well, I've been here for 5 years, and many people have made up many stranger things, so it's always nice to check. Thanks for the link, GiantSnowman 11:05, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
Delroy Facey Caps link before you say anything :D http://caribbeanfootballdatabase.com/grenada/players/delroyfacey.html
Disambiguation link notification
editHi. When you recently edited 2011–12 Hereford United F.C. season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Andrew Williams and Andy Todd (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Infobox stats
editHello. Noticed you added Basingstoke appearances to Maik Taylor, and appearances for the sort of clubs that aren't covered by Soccerbase etc to other players. For verifiability, please could you go back and add a note of the source(s) of your information. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 21:48, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- I repeat, please add the sources for information you're putting in footballer infoboxes. Without sources, your changes will have to be undone, which will be a waste of your time and mine. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 18:13, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- Put the details of the book (author, title, page number(s) is enough, additional info such as isbn, publisher, date would be helpful) inside <ref>...</ref> tags. If the format's wrong, someone will fix it, what's important is for the source to be there at all. Something like <ref>Fred Bloggs, Book of Stats, p.24.</ref> would be fine, <ref>Fred Bloggs, Book of Stats, p.24. ISBN 123456. Published by Stats Publishing 2008.</ref> would be better, and make it easier for the reader to check. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 18:22, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- Glad you found a reference format that suited you. Looks a useful book, I've just ordered one. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 08:15, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Please stop adding stats to infoboxes without saying where the info comes from. It might take you a couple of minutes longer, but if you're using the same book every time, all it takes is set up the link once and then copypaste it to the article's references section and change the page number. editHi, you might have noticed you've just been blocked & unblocked - many apologies, I thought you were a sock of Mister Giggles (talk · contribs), who was blocked back in 2005. Have you considered changing your name? GiantSnowman 23:37, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

editHello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Jonathan Brown (Welsh footballer) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

How do you add a source from something that you have worked out yourself from looking through match reports?

Proposed deletion of 2014–15 Hereford United F.C. season
editThe article 2014–15 Hereford United F.C. season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Hereford do not play in a Fully Professional League and per previous consensus should not have a season article
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JMHamo (talk) 16:42, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
