F1 scope

It is an external website with no obvious explanation as to why it should be listed as an external link to the articles. There was no explanation as to what it was. It is not easily understandable for the novice reader (Wikipedia's target audience), it just looks like a grey disk with dots whirling about. It's utility is quite low. --Falcadore (talk) 13:53, 16 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia should not be used as a means of promotion, self-promotion or advertising, per the policy WP:NOTADVERTISING. If you believe your website has value beyond the extremely limited of my person belief, then by all means, ask other Formula One editors for their opinions at the Formula one editors group: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Formula One. --Falcadore (talk) 14:13, 17 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think the page is useful, that's it. And what about the promotion/self-promotion/advertising of the official Australian GP website which is a valid external link... This is just a webshop where you can enjoy some PR and link to buy tickets...

That is the official AGP website. Linking to official sites is encouraged. As I said, have a chat to the member of the Wikiproject. However I should warn you that a dim view is taken of using wikipedia for personal promotion. --Falcadore (talk) 14:25, 17 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
f1scope has been updated to make it more user friendly. I would like to ask you to take a look again, and reconsider adding it to the wiki page. I got feedback via twitter, and there are more people who find it useful.

When it comes to the self-promotion/advertising, this is not a commercial project, the only thing it promotes is the Grand Prix itself. There is my name on the page, that is true. But I'm the author so I put my name on it. If it is a show stopper, I can remove it from the main page. That is not a problem.
