Hi - the guidelines for what you can put on your userpage are at UP. The article you just created, which I nominated for speedy deletion, was in article space rather than user space - that's definitely not where it belongs! Any conflict of interest should be declared on your user page - see COI for guidance on how to do this. Hi, Martijn Katan! I was just in the process of reviewing your user page and other contributions (including a mistaken one at Mkatan, in article space) and was about to remove the deletion tag from User:Mkatan; I'm afraid another administrator got to it first. If you re-create that page – and I don't see any reason why you should not – may I suggest that you omit the social media links? I can also restore the page for you if you would like me to, just leave a note here.

I'm sorry if any of us has seemed unwelcoming, but I'm sure that you will understand that we have many people who come here just to try to use this as a platform to promote themselves. Wikipedia is supposed to be particularly welcoming to academics and experts, but I'm afraid we make a poor job of it. I hope that you won't be discouraged from contributing here.
