Speedy deletion of Montserrat Secondary School

edit

A tag has been placed on Montserrat Secondary School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Neutralle 11:07, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Montserrat Volcano Observatory Tremors

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Montserrat Volcano Observatory Tremors, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Club on an island with some 4,000 inhabitants (now ,used to be some 8,000), so dubious notability from the start. However, additional problem is that it is based in an abandoned city, with a ground that is no longer in use (city is empty after repeated volcanic destruction). So it seems that the info in this unsourced article is very dubious, and that the club is not noatble anyway.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Proposed deletions

edit

All other Montserrat football team articles are up for deletion as well, including the two you recreated after they were speedily deleted under another name. The Montserrat league may be worth an article, they play internationally after all, even if they are one of the two worst FIFA teams, but individual small amateur teams should not get articles solely because they compete in a very small "top level" competition. Do they have any notability? Fram (talk) 09:03, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. When you recently edited C.D.Casadeca, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jorge Núñez (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?

edit

Hi Mkhan-95,

In November you received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you!
