Yes, there is evidence of a Native American presence in the area in the early history of the town, but no record of Monacans. Identify a source to confirm this or edit/remove it. dddonald (talk) 13:12, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have a good start, but you'll need to add more content to make this complete. Fill out some of the points you have identified and broaden your source base to see what you can learn about some of the major milestones. What about events related to the Civil War or the end of slavery? Consider using the sources on the history of New London Academy, the history section of the HSR and/or the archaeology report, the Daisy Read book, the FNL website, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing what you find there. dddonald (talk) 00:46, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Can you change some information in the Bedford Springs section like how long the area had that name? Also could you add some information of William Mead in this section to fill some information? Maybe you could add a photo of the New London Academy currently? Cboyd 4 (talk) 17:13, 6 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

One thing that could be beneficial to add to this section is the African-American history in this area. Because of what we know about Andrew Holt and his church, it would be interesting to know more of the history for African-Americans during this time period. Andrew Holt would have been in New London around this time period. In the Education section you also mentioned the Episcopal church, and there seems to be a significant religious history in New London, so having a section dedicated to the religious or even the church history. For example, the New London Methodist church dates back to the 1850s, and even William Mead's son, Stith became preacher (though it would appear he did not stay in the New London area). This article has been well researched and written. Nonetheless, there are some revisions that can be done for improvement. For instance, is it necessary to provide hyperlinks for the years and time periods? Providing links to years may cause readers and researchers to stray away from the subject of New London. Also, how long was Bedford known as Bedford Springs? When did it's name change back to Bedford?

An appropriate photo to add to the article might be one of the Battle of Lynchburg, since it took place near New London. Another appropriate photo might be of a mineral spring, a health resort, or a spa town. The Echols family established The Bedford Alum and Iodine Spring in 1859, and passed it off as a mineral spring.
