Just a quick question. Why have you used the old University of Nottingham logo for your userbox? (unsigned comment 04:28, 21 April 2006 ArchonMeld)

Because a) it looks a lot better and b) the new one is only uploaded on wikipedia with the text, which would look stupid (and ruin the layout) in the userbox Modest Genius ^talk 17:44, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Logo

The copyright notice of the logo states that it may be used for any purpose related to promoting the university. Indicating current and past students is a form of promotion - therefore we can use it. I concede that maybe the copyright tag on the image is wrong, although I cant see a better one. I have replaced the image. Modest Genius ^talk 17:37, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

If I read the page right, the promotion clause is still only used by the Univserity officials. No matter what, the image is still tagged as a fair use image and cannot use this image in the userbox at all. User:Zscout370 ^{(Return Fire)} 05:41, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Category:School user templates

At present, Category:School user templates includes userboxes for any type of educational institution, including universities; it was for that reason I added this userbox to the category. Cheers, Black Falcon ^(Talk) 20:53, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Probably. :) It contains nearly 800 pages so subcategorisation might not be a bad idea. In any case, I'll leave it to your discretion whether you choose to place this page in the category.
