Both you and I have some common interest in the west and deserts. Lets see, if you want, if we can collaberate on areas of common interest. I want to contribute pictures and editing work. Let me know what you think. I think I jumped the gun in a few areas and misunderstood your intentions toward me. I think we can work together. BTW offer suggestions. Thanks, Dave

Would you happen to have pictures for the St. George area that are up-to-date? I am from St. George, but am currently living quite a ways away. I'm really looking for some good downtown pictures...VBlack 18:29, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

An image that you uploaded, Image:LVCityFlag.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Context?

edit

What do you want to know in the article Steam (band) that is not already in there?

Las Vegas, Nevada

edit

I reverted your changes since most of what you added is already included in Las Vegas metropolitan area and Clark County School District. Text should only be in one place, otherwise you create an update nightmare. I believe that all of this is already linked in the article, but if clearer links need to be added, that could be done. Capitals and Capitols

edit

Next time just move the page. This takes all the previous versions to a new page, and sets up a redirect from the old page (in this case the misspelled version). Cutting and Pasting to a new article leaves the old history behind. Not a big issue but it can be quite significant if you don't properly move more established articles, or those with a lot of discussion on the talk page. Keep up the good work! --Steve (Slf67) talk 08:48, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi. This case looks interesting. I'll take a look at the edits and photos and have a chat with User:Staplegunther. If you want to provide more background, or just want to have a chat, leave me a message on my talk page or send me an email. Regards SilkTork 22:42, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've left a message on Staplegunther's talk page. I agree that the images are misplaced. It looks to me just like a new user who is unsure how things are done. I have sent him a welcome message and given him some soft words of encouragement. I have suggested some reading, and that he should get in touch with me. If he continues to misplace inappropriate pictures in articles that you are watching, please let me know and I'll speak to him. Regards SilkTork 23:04, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

==Mormon Corridor==It is one thing to edit, it is another thing to remove citiations that don't meet your personal criteria. Please be more considerate of others who contribute to Wikipedia. Thanks. -Staplegunther

Hi. Staplegunther appears to be OK now. I am monitoring his edits, and there are no real problems - just another editor finding his feet. If you see any other of his edits that you feel could do with some advise then let him know - I think he would welcome your support and encouragement. Any problems let me know - I'm always willing to help out. And thanks for bringing this to our attention. Unless you have any objections I will now close this case. Thanks for uploading Image:BDPine_Park_Wash.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 22:39, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Urban areas template

edit

I noticed that the title Urban areas on the template links to Metropolitan areas. Is this correct? Also, Dallas really should include Ft.Worth since it is listed that way on the reference found on the Urban areas article. Postoak (talk) 01:25, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop reverting the MSA ranking. The MSA definition is the only one applied unifomrly throughout the US. Please see Talk:Combined Statistical Area for details. MSA data conforms to the single urban core definition. CSAs are not approporiate for definining single metropolitan areas as they contain several central cities. --Polaron | Talk 05:35, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop reverting the template. You have already reverted to your preferred version where you mix and match CSAs and MSAs four times. I have changed to the urban area definition instead of the MSA definition yet you still revert. If you persist, you may be temporarily blocked from editing per the three revert rule. --Polaron | Talk 22:57, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your 3RR report

edit

The report you filed at the 3RR noticeboard actually ended up highlighting your own 3RR violation. While I'm not issuing a block for anyone at this time, I have protected the template temporarily and I encourage you to continue the discussion on the talk page. The main conflict seems to be over an understanding of semantics, so I hope 48 hours is enough time to resolve it one way or another. If need be, please get help through the proper conflict resolution process rather than continuing the edit war. Kafziel Talk 09:07, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Black Mountain / Henderson

edit

Thanks for the clarification. It is interesting that just about every public entity, including the company that builds those radio and tv towers (http://www.americantower.com/OASISPublic/SitePublicPage/SiteListGeneratorResults.asp?SiteListType=2&cmbState=32)....

Similar in some ways to Kansas City, Mo., being across from Kansas City, Kan. Not to mention that there are Black Mountains Arizona, New Hanpshire and North Carolina.

Being as that we seem to be renaming and rebordering parts of the Vegas Valley constantly, perhaps some renaming is in order here.. Perhaps a Vegas-sounding name for our TV tower mountain. My vote: Mount Elvis. Spitwater (talk) 00:11, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Review-journal-cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Review-journal-cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Summerlin news.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Summerlin news.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. File source problem with File:Trumbull Rd.JPG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Trumbull Rd.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dixie (Utah), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Washington County (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your upload of File:Calfcreek.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

Lynn Peterson (Oregon politician) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Lynn Peterson (Oregon politician), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
