Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. The past month has been an eventful one for the project as a whole. Old dramas have closed, new ones have begun. Four articles nominated for GA review, three of them passed and promoted, with one of them making ProjectEurovision history by being the first annual contest article to ever achieve GA status. If it wasn't for the hard work and the many hours of team collaborations that we have endured on this project, then those accolades would never have been gained. Each of those article promotions are as a result of your continuous determination to be part of the best team this project has seen for a long time. There is a teamwork barnstar with this newsletter for you to cherish and you may display the award on your pages if you wish. Now we look to the months ahead and start preparations for Malmo 2013, and see if we can work to getting another annual article to GA status. Here's to you - the team of excellence.
Happy editing! | ||||||

WikiProject Eurovision: Recent changes
editHello,
Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:
- Template names have now been modernised and/or megred into super-templates, for example Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest has now been merged into Template:Eurovision Song Contest making it even easier to find everything under one template. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind. Other templates have been modernised and a full list of them can be found here.
- The Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest articles have now been standardised to keep a consitancy throughout the project and to the genral reader too. Skeleton article drafts can be found for Eurovision Song Contest by Year and Junior Eurovision Song Contest by Year.
If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision.
You are receiving this message since you are listed as a member of WikiProject Eurovision. If you are no longer interested in contributing to Eurovision articles, please remove your username from this page.

Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! Please be warm-hearted in encouraging everyone to do their best to contribute to all Eurovision-related Wikipedia articles, and welcome our new members to the project. Remember that this project can only operate if we act in a cooperative manner and engage in discussions regarding article matters. It is seen as best practice to put forward ideas to other members of the project before rushing ahead and acting on a potential falsifying action. If you feel an article may warrant a deletion, why not test the waters by opening a discussion on the article's talk page or our very own project talk page - before rushing off and submitting an AfD. It saves wasting time nominating an article for deletion which could end up with an overwhelming "keep" by other editors. Communicating with each other is a vital tool and a skill that may prove advantageous in real-life scenarios. Also be on the look out for potential new members to the project. Post {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on any user page you think is interested to join the WikiProject, to officially invite them to join.

Türkvizyon 2013
editKazakhstan have selected their artists. I verified and the details are shown on Turkvizyon's official website. Wesley Mᴥuse 16:25, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- Also, please remember to use correct date formats too. I noticed on Eurovision Song Contest 2014 that you seem to input dates in a non-European format (for example, November 24). As the Eurovision articles use British English, then we need to use the correct date formatting (per WP:ENGVAR and WP:STRONGNAT) which would be Date, Month, Year (24 November 2013). It's an easy mistake to make, so nothing to worry about. Juts thought I'd point this out to you though, in case you were not aware. Wesley Mᴥuse 16:37, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- The official website is wrong as Kazakhstan selected their act today, they were mislead by a youtube video saying she was their act, when it was just promotion for her participation. Moldova96 (talk) 17:57, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I'm more inclined to say an official website is by far more accurate than YouTube. Anyone with a registered account can upload content onto YouTube and claim it to be "official". However, an official website such as Turkvizyon.info would be impossible for a "normal" person to modify. It's like saying that the BBC publish wrong information on their official website, or Eurovision.tv are not accurate with theirs. If there are conflicting verifications, then we would be much wiser to wait on this one and see exactly who is the official participant. It doesn't help with verifying policy as news sources are limited with only Eurovoix and Turkvizyon's official website providing all the data. May be worth looking for independent sources too. Wesley Mᴥuse 18:14, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- There's definitely something not making sense now. Eurovoix state Rin'go. Turkvizyon's page state Luina. And Kazakhstan news sources state Aikyn. Three participants reported as confirmed for the same country? Wesley Mᴥuse 18:27, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
I've raised this matter up at Talk:Türkvizyon 2013#Kazakhstan, as we are dealing with living people here, and we need to be extra careful not to violate the highest of Wikirules - WP:BLP, which holds serious consequences for editors who violates them. The last thing you and I need right now is to be facing blocks for violating BLP. Wesley Mᴥuse 18:37, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

- Thank you for the improvements made to Kazakhstan in the Türkvizyon Song Contest, they look good and could have earned you 5 points (putting you into first place on the first day of competition) for improving a stub article to start-class; had you signed-up to the EikiProject Eurovision Cup. I have had to make some slight changes though, as there were some spelling and grammar errors; including the placement of citations - which you placed before any punctuation, when they should go after punctuation marks. Other than that, good work! Wes Mouse | T@lk 17:31, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

Missing talk pages
editMoldova98, you recently created the article List of languages in the Türkvizyon Song Contest (which you missed the umlaut on Turkvizyon to begin with, and I have since page moved it to the correct title). However, you have not created the talk page for the article. Without it, the article is not showing any project assessment scale, which means we have no record of the article on our project, and also it means I cannot assign any points towards your Project Eurovision Cup, because I have no indication of the articles classification status. Please can you rectify this as soon as possible and leave me a quick note via my talk page so that I can check it again and add the points. Thanks. Wes Mouse ✒ 14:37, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement
editWikiProject Eurovision Important Announcement
Dear Project Member Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles. Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you. |

Azerbaijan in the Turkvision Song Contest
editI have found an edit performed by you two years ago in which you listed the judges of Azerbaijan's national final for the Turkvision Song Contest 2013 and stated the draw and songs of the national final, but none of your sources actually provided this content. Are you able to source this please? Thank you. — Tuxipεdia(talk) 19:28, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

The article All For One Caribbean has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Does not appear to meet notability guidelines. Short-lived event where the only sources appear to be the contest's own website, a couple casual references about entrants, and a few sites that talk about it in relation to Eurovision, which it was loosely based on.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
