Number articles

edit

Please do not create redirects of the form 5 factorial as they are not helpful. Articles of the form 11978571669969891796072783721689098736458938142546425857555362864628009582789845319680000000000000000 (number) are not useful either. Thanks. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 21:08, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ungrammatical redirects of the form Charles IX of france are of not of much use either. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 21:23, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I appologize to anyone who felt that my contributions (as descussed above) were not useful. I will refrain from doing so again.

MoleculeUpload 15:12, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, my comment was too harsh. I've been dealing with a stubborn person who kept on adding strange redirects and would not listen, and I transferred the same tone over here. So please don't take it too close to heart, most people here are nice most of the time. :) Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 16:55, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I understand.

Robert Benfer (animator)

edit

Since an article about this individual was repeatedly voted to be deleted, I could have nominated this instance for immediate deletion. Instead, I listed it at Wikipedia:Cleanup to see what happens. Be not surprised if this version gets deleted as well; if this happens, I suggest you to wait at least for a year, to see if anybody cares about him by then. - Mike Rosoft 13:49, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bots

edit

Hello, Tawker. Thank you for posting information to help me on the Wiki-bot talk page. I just have a few additional questions I wish to ask you. Does a robot run on a Wikipedia server, or on a private computer? If so: How does one create a robot like you have? Do you know of any way to create a robot on the Windows XP platform? Thank you for your time! - MoleculeUpload 22:46, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Most run on private computers, it really depends on what you want to do with the bot, the basic framework of Tawkerbot2 wouldn't work too well in WinXP, you might want to checkout WP:AWB AutoWikiBrowser as it might be what you're looking for -- Tawker 22:48, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I really appreciate it! -MoleculeUpload 22:50, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Entropy Sites

edit

This article is up for deletion. You may care to comment on the deletion page. I did not put it up, but I think it is correct. I have added your external links to Entropy. If the regulars there like them they will survive. If not they will go. --Bduke 02:01, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I understand your concern. I was fairly sure they would go. Thank you for moving the links. MoleculeUpload 22:15, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Two Questions

edit

I have two questions that I have been wondering about for a while. They are: 1. Are usernames deleted after a certain time period of being idol? 2. When someone posts a message on your talk page, should you reply on your talk page or theirs.

Thank you. MoleculeUpload 22:18, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

  1. Nope. There are many registered Wikipedians who have never edited a single article, yet use the account to specify preferences in viewing such as equation format, date format, etc...
  2. I've seen it both ways. I try to keep the conversation all in one place, myself, by posting on the same talkpage the original was posted on. Other people do it differently... personally, I find those conversations hard to follow.

A.J. Rightway

edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article A.J. Rightway, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:A.J. Rightway. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

Just a head's up... --Ssbohio 04:18, 12 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:Ozone.JPG listed for deletion

edit

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Ozone.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. File source problem with File:Hydroflouric Acid.JPG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Hydroflouric Acid.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:15, 4 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:15, 4 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
