Anyone with a conflict of interest must avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your family or colleagues, your organization or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

- Hi. I got your message. I think your user name was what caused me to think that you might have a connection, and also the fact that you didn't seem to have contributed on any other topics. I didn't agree that the draft was a copyright violation although that was the reason it was tagged for deletion. You just need to be ultra-careful what words to use, as there is a bot working to spot this kind of problem. If you haven't already, you could try the NPOV tutorial, which might give you a bit of guidance in this area as well. In general, avoid citations that have the word "blog" in them, although I recognise that a blog may be the same as an official website in practice. Also, try to avoid any phrases that sound complimentary, such as "the IQOE strives to create a harmonious balance". These things will get the article tagged as promotional. If there are any public criticisms of the IQOE, make sure to include these as well. I would say that beginning with a shorter article might have been better in the long run. Other people will help you as long as they can tell you are genuine. Are you prepared to start again? Deb (talk) 07:09, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- One more thing - don't include any external links within the text of the article. Deb (talk) 07:10, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Deb, thank you for your reply and feedback! I do my own ocean research as a student, which is why I have an ocean username. I will have a look at the NPOV tutorial, change wording, and check to see if there are any criticisms or elements of IQOE i am missing. As well as shorten it.
- Should I go ahead re-create the draft page and start editing again? MonitorMyOcean (talk) 23:26, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
