A tag has been placed on LuxSci, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and put a note on Talk:LuxSci. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 19:48, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Hey there,
I see that you just deleted the page I added for LuxSci due to it being to close to an advertisement, and I was hoping I could get it undeleted so that I can continue working on it. My intention was not to promote this page as an advertisement, but rather to inform about the specific differences that set it apart from some of the other services like Gmail. Is there a specific section in the article that's causing it to be classified as an advertisement? Or was it just because it didn't present enough information yet? Please let me know what I can do to improve upon it so that the page remains up.
Thanks very much in advance. Moonflaker 21:03, 23 February 2007 (UTC)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Moonflaker (talk • contribs) 20:59, 23 February 2007 (UTC).
- Hello Moonflaker. Basically it just looks like it's trying to sell it to me. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia really doesn't need a blow-by-blow description of exactly what the product does or what makes it cool. We need to know why it matters. It would be important to note, for instance, how many users it has, what countries it is used in, whether it is used by businesses (and which ones?), etc, etc. More help can be found at various article-writing help pages such as Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles. If you don't have a copy of the article, send me an e-mail, and I'll send you a copy. (Use the "E-mail this user" button on the left, under "toolbox".) Okay, I've trimmed down the LuxSci article going by what I gleaned from the guide and from other similar pages such as Hushmail. If you're willing, I'm open to any criticisms or concerns. Thanks again. Moonflaker 21:12, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- You could create a user subpage and put it there for the time being. Try User:Moonflaker/LuxSci. --Fang Aili talk 21:15, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Er, nevermind, I see it. Good job trimming it down. Just one thing: you might want to check the guidelines at WP:CORP. I'm not that familiar with it, but you might want to double check that you're meeting one or more of the guidelines. Cheers, Fang Aili talk 21:18, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
