I am trying to design a page for the film 'Little Giants' - a social/sports documentary based upon one day in 1987 when the Uefa Cup Final came to Dundee, Scotland. I am new to this and don't really know where to start? This is a trailer of that film -[1]. Any help will be useful!

You are currently working on that article in your user space. If anyone wants to look at it and provide helpful comments, it is here: 'Little_Giants'_(1987) That is exactly the right place to start an article. Short of serious problems like copy violations or libel, no one is going to propose that your article be deleted if it isn't quite ready.

However, it is not generally visible to others. People using the search option won't find it.

When it is ready for the mainspace, it can be moved to the mainsapce. Once it is in the mainspace it can be found seconds after moving if you know the name, and within a couple hours if you use a search. You won't see a move tab for a couple more days, you need ten edits (which you have) and four days(which you don't have.) If you think it is ready and don't want to wait, another editor can move it for you.

I haven't looked at the content myself, so I don't know whether to recommend it be moved at this time, perhaps someone else will comment on that.--SPhilbrickT 13:21, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry I must redact my response to your help page question. After looking more closely, there are a multitude of problems here:

  • It is a non-objective journalistic essay rather than an encyclopedia entry. Only objective neutral and verifiable encyclopedic information is acceptable.
  • You can't use wikipedia articles as references.
  • You can't use YouTube as a ref or even link to it.
  • There are no wikilinks.
  • There is a notability issue as Google doesn't have much of anything I could see.

I would recommend further learning about writing articles since this draft as it is would not be acceptable and would be deleted fairly quickly. Mjpresson (talk) 16:35, 24 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

If I may, here are some links to help you write a Wikipedia style article:

One thing I should have mentioned. Your essay is excellent and you are to be commended for it! It's just that, if you checked some of the links I provided, you saw that this type of essay isn't something WP allows--it's one of the things "Wikipedia Isn't". We want you to stay--your skills would be appreciated here. Also, if just a couple third party sources of backup can be provided, notability could perhaps be established and an objective encyclopedia type article could be written. There are rules but boldness is encouraged here. There are also (I believe) other Wikimedia projects where you could post it as is such as one of the Wikias.
