Incomplete reference links - the Esplanade

In these edits to The Esplanade (Perth), you included references like this: "wapolicyforum.org.au/.../WAPF_An_Ugly_Stupid_Idea_The_Perth_...". Could you please include the full URL - no matter how long it is. Wrapping in a {{cite web}} template would be good, but don't worry about it too much. The most important thing is the full URL, so that others can check the reference (and wrap it in a cite template if they feel so inclined). Thanks, Mitch Ames (talk) 10:07, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Mitch - the link is to a pdf page, and the URL is as it shows on my mac. If I click on the link I get the pdf, not the full URL, and I'm just not sure how to format it. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Morethangrass (talk) 00:45, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

I'm not a MAC user, so I can't give any specific help, but here are some general ideas, at least one of which should solve the problem. Assuming that you clicked a link on a webpage in your browser, and that link is to a PDF which your computer then opened in a PDF viewing program...

• Does your browser allow you to copy the URL of a link target and then paste it somewhere? Perhaps a context menu in your browser?
• Is there an "about this document" or "properties of this document" in the PDF viewer that will display and/or allow you to copy the full location/URL of the document?
• Can you provide the full URL of the web page that contains the link to the PDF, and the approximate location and/or displayed text of the link? I could probably go to that page myself then and get the direct link.

I've fixed your recent changes to the ref links, so now they work (they didn't before, at least on my browser). Could you check the latest version please, and verify that the new links are what you were originally referring to. Mitch Ames (talk) 10:37, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
