Ok, I'm not a wikipedia expert by any means. I'm doing this article as an assignment for a class. I am staff and student at EMU and selected Susan as the subject. Please free up hold on this account so I may remove her single remaining photo so I may finish my assignment.

Response from morlet63: the photos used are from the State university's website on a public domain, photos taken by the university-employed photographer. Photos are property of the university. They are not necessarily copyrighted or protected as this person. I should be able to use the photos without deletion.

Being on a state university web site does not make the image public domain. Eeekster (talk) 01:16, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Heather Neff

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Heather Neff, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.heatherneffbooks.com/old/BiographyPage.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Heather Neff

edit

A tag has been placed on Heather Neff requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. kelapstick (talk) 18:46, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removal of speedy deletion tags

edit

Hi, If you oppose the speedy deletion of an article, do not replace the tag with the {{hangon}} tag, simply put it under the deletion tag. Thanks.--kelapstick (talk) 18:52, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removal of speedy deletion tags

edit

As I said above, do not remove the speedy deletion tag. You are not allowed to remove a speedy deletion tag on an article that you created. If you read this it is stated at the top of the page. The "hangon" template is still at there, it will be reviewed by an administrator, or another Wikipedia editor and removed if appropriate. As I stated above:

The creator of a page may not remove a Speedy Delete tag from it.--kelapstick (talk) 19:24, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notability guidlines

edit

I suggest that you read the notability guidelines for people and provide some reliable sources that establish Heather Neff's notability if you wish to have an article about here on Wikipedia]].--kelapstick (talk) 19:34, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for File:Dr Martin.jpg}

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Dr Martin.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Additionally, if you continue uploading bad images, you may be blocked from uploading. STBotI (talk) 01:26, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Bruce_springsteen.jpg

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Bruce_springsteen.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:23, 2 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 12:23, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
