Welcome + Java Applet questions
editHi, and welcome to wikipedia! Hope you decide to stay.
I'm curious about the "color conversion applet" that you linked. First, it's not clear how to get actual numeric conversions out of it; I can move sliders within a color space, and see the resulting color, but that's it--no obvious way of comparing spaces. Second, the L*a*b* space seems wrong. Take a look at the screenshot to the right. There's no way that is at constant lightness. The middle section is black, while the corner of of the gamut is bright blue. Those *don't* have the same lightness.
Anyway, I hope you like wikipedia, and decide to stay and contribute! --jacobolus (t) 20:10, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Motine. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Color-conversion-applet.png) was found at the following location: User talk:Motine. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 02:18, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
The article Tie (information technology) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (software) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
