Proposed deletion of The British Political Tradition

edit

The article The British Political Tradition has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is an essay not an article

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Scott Mac (Doc) 14:19, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

The British Political Tradition

edit

Your article was deleted under the WP:Proposed deletion process, intended for uncontroversial deletions, so it is automatically restored on request. I will notify user Scott MacDonald (talk · contribs), who PRODded it, in case he wishes to nominate it for the WP:Articles for deletion process, which would involve a discussion lasting seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute.

While I see exactly what Scott Macdonald meant, I am finding it hard to put my finger on the problem so as to advise you. My first thought was that you were putting together facts from different sources to draw a new conclusion, a process we call WP:SYNTHESIS - read that guideline, in fact read the whole of WP:No original research, of which it forms part - but I don't think you are actually doing that, as far as I can see you could cite sources for your conclusions.

I will ask Scott Macdonald if he can give you advice: meanwhile there is a good deal to be done in terms of article layout and structure. Read:

and pick some articles out of the lists of WP:Featured articles and WP:Good articles to see how they are presented. (GAs may be more helpful than FAs, which are very highly-developed.) Articles linked from Political culture might be worth looking at.

One way to get advice on an article is to post a request at WP:Requests for feedback.

I am afraid I have not been as helpful as I hoped to be when I started to write this, but it may give you some pointers. I will add more if more occurs to me. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:23, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi JohnCD _ I've made a few amendments to the article. Would you mind having a look if it's made it better. Thanks Mph326
