Five & Up Flowers

edit

Hello, I’ve just read this article and I'm a bit concerned that the company doesn't seem to be notable enough to qualify for a Wikipedia article. That's a link to the guideline, but basically the issue is that there's no citations covering the company like newspapers or on reliable websites. Are there any media articles (not just listings of opening hours) like newspaper articles covering the company proving that it's notable? I just wanted to ask because the article may get deleted otherwise.

If you know that the company is notable enough to meet the guidelines you can just edit the article and add citations using the cite tool. Let me know here if you have any problems. Blythwood (talk) 21:22, 10 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I came on here to state something similar. The gist of the notability guideline for companies is that all companies must have coverage in independent and reliable sources like newspaper articles that discuss the business in order to establish notability. Now while your business does exist, existing doesn't automatically grant notability on Wikipedia and the site isn't a business listing like the Yellow Pages. Most businesses don't have enough coverage to warrant an article on Wikipedia and I've deleted pages on some businesses that have made millions of dollars and are extremely successful. Speedy deletion nomination of Five and Up Flowers

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Five and Up Flowers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
