American Gods - (un)linking Wednesday
editWell, the way I see it is that no-one reading this article is likely to be in doubt about what Wednesday is, and this article itself explains the link to Woden, which is the only relevant info a reader might not know about Wednesday. However, it's not that important. I don't want to get into a edit war about it. Colonies Chris 12:14, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Francis Bryan (DYK nom)
editHi. I've nominated Francis Bryan, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created on November 18, where you can improve it if you see fit. — Komusou talk @ 16:40, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks very much! (sorry, don't know if I should be replying here?). I had actually considered nominating the article for the "Vicar of Hell" nickname, but wasn't too sure of the DYK procedure. Cheers again. Mrabbits (talk) 22:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well, a DYK nutshell:
- New article with at least 1500 signs of prose (excluding lists, tables, infobox, references) or whose prose has been expanded at least 5x, with creation or expansion less than 5 days old. Decently sourced, preferably with contextual <REF>s too. And providing a "hook" that's informational or surprising or funny, and couldn't be said of many similar articles.
- Reading once the "Suggestions" section of DYK gives you the details. Also, you can look at the nominations at the bottom ("expired noms" and the day before) to see those who were rejected and the comments explaining why, as a "what not to do" guide of sorts.

- Well, a DYK nutshell:
- Great, I'll bear that in mind. Thanks for the picture tips too. Mrabbits (talk) 22:10, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Cramond Tower.jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Cramond Tower.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
