About the status of the Ngunnawal language in 2023
Hi, I note that you have changed Ngunnawal language to remove the 'extinct' status. You said that you did this because it "... contradicts the claim in Current Status that the langauge has been used in the community for years". But the Current Status section does not make that claim. Rather, it says, in short, that the Ngunnawal community has for years been engaged in work to revive the language, with the aim of bringing it back into daily use. I'm actually one of the 'AIATSIS linguists' working with the Ngunnawal community to assist them with this work, and while I hope it will move out of the 'extinct' status, it is an appropriate label at the moment. I'll also mention that in the field language revival we don't normally use the word 'extinct' as community members find it insulting, but that's the label we have available here in WP. I'm happy to discuss this, but I think it appropriate to revert your change. Cheers! Dougg (talk) 01:19, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- I see I misinterpreted the Current Status section. I am happy to see my edit reverted.

- I have already done so.

Hey MtPenguinMonster, Please check for sources on the internet before prod'ing an article for failing ncorp. Also, notify the author of the article that you are prod'ing. Happy editing <3 Jeraxmoira (talk) 18:42, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- I notice you've significantly improved the article after I proposed its deletion. Well done on saving it, I guess. <3
- --MtPenguinMonster (talk) 00:37, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
- It's not about saving the article. A google search of Electro Freeze would have shown you why it does not fail ncorp but was just outdated. If you have the time, please go through WP:ATD and WP:BEFORE. Jeraxmoira (talk) 04:56, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
- I see I made an error. Next time I consider nominating an article for deletion, I'll do these checks.

Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to climate change, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
