Notability of Hutch (sound engineer)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Hutch (sound engineer), by Closedmouth, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Hutch (sound engineer) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Hutch (sound engineer), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Hutch (sound engineer) itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 07:34, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Alan Horne

A tag has been placed on Alan Horne, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

The Dark Knight

Your corrections are appreciated, but we do not need to know every detail that happens in the film. All that stuff that happens with Batman going to Hong Kong to get Lau, it's extraeous. It's easily summarized by saying that Batman apprehends him. Readers can go watch the movie for the details of such things.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 18:33, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Elections in Colorado

A tag has been placed on Elections in Colorado, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Burris

Please see my comment on the talk page about why we need a few qualifying words in the lead about the appointment, as I added. I agree that we shouldn't have the details of Blago's travails there, and of course should not have Burris listed as senator in the infobox. But a few words in the lead as I put it I think are needed. We can discuss on talk - I just wanted to point you to this. Tvoz/talk 20:38, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Typo redirect Illinois's 1st congressional district election, 2010

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Illinois's 1st congressional district election, 2010, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Illinois's 1st congressional district election, 2010 is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Illinois's 1st congressional district election, 2010, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Political party strength in New York

Hi Muboshgu. Just wanted to let you know that I replied on my talk page. Qqqqqq (talk) 22:47, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

That's some nice work!
Do you have any idea where to find historical state legislature numbers? Qqqqqq (talk) 20:47, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you! I had some time to procrastinate. I'm not sure where that kind of info might be, but I was going to start looking into that. --Muboshgu (talk) 20:49, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
That seems to be the way most things get done on Wikipedia :)
In working on all the articles in this series, the state legislature numbers have been the most difficult, by far, to obtain. http://www.senate.state.ny.us/sws/aboutsenate/history.html details the size (in terms of number of members) of the Senate over time, which has changed far more than it has in most states. I'll let you know if I can find anything else. Otherwise, I guess it's just U.S. house and presidential elections of the 1800s to go. Qqqqqq (talk) 21:00, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
A quick Google search isn't coming up with anything. I added the Wikiproject tags for the New York and Politics projects, maybe someone there might know. I'll keep Googling different things and see if I find what we need. Otherwise, I'm done working on the page for a little bit.--Muboshgu (talk) 21:06, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, it seems that most states don't keep good public records of this kind of thing; state, legislative, or newspaper archives would be my bet. Perhaps a project for another time, I suppose. If you're taking a break on this article, I'll work on the U.S. House in the mean time. Qqqqqq (talk) 21:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Conchords 201 A Good Opportunity.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Conchords 201 A Good Opportunity.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:22, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Template:ElectionsAK, etc.

Hey there. Non-free content can only be used in articles, it cannot be used in the Template: namespace. Cheers. :-) --MZMcBride (talk) 05:11, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps I misread the non-free content page, but these seals are in the public domain and I will edit them to reflect this. --Muboshgu (talk) 05:17, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
File:Oklahomastateseal.jpg seems to be pretty clearly non-free. The Alaska and North Carolina ones are on Commons, so that one should be fine assuming copyright was not renewed. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 05:23, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
I don't see how File:Oklahomastateseal.jpg is not free. It was published prior to 1923. Copyrights expire after 85 years. --Muboshgu (talk) 05:25, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Elections can be suspended. That has happened several times in history. My revision is very factual. Predictions are prohibited by Wikipedia. My revision sounds good, not awkward. Chergles (talk) 17:53, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

I may be mistaken, I may be confusing it with Giuliani's attempts to extend his term in 2002. But has a November general election ever been suspended? I won't revert the edit again. --Muboshgu (talk) 17:57, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Assessments

When you add project banners to talk pages (Thank you!), can you also please assess them? See, e.g., Talk:United States Senate election in Massachusetts, 1964. Thank you.—Markles 11:57, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Ok. I'm still new to this, so I'll have to read up on the requirements.--Muboshgu (talk) 12:52, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Massachusetts elections categories

Hi, First I want to let you know that another editor has nominated one of your MA elections cats for renaming or deletion. However, I noticed that you also created a bunch of other single-article categories -- all of which I believe are unneeded and should therefore be nominated for deletion. You are, of course, entirely welcome to participate in the CFD discussion. But I would recommend that you postpone the creation of any additional single-article categories of this sort pending the outcome of the CFD. Regards, Cgingold (talk) 15:37, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

It should be reverted to the way it was before I edited it. I was creating 2010 categories then kept going, and realized there wasn't much point after a couple of those early ones.--Muboshgu (talk) 15:42, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Please see my reply at the CFD. Thanks! Cgingold (talk) 00:13, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to United States Senate election in Kansas, 2010. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.
