Italics on Vuvuzela article
Hey Muhandes. I see you removed the italics on the Vuvuzela article. The link that you provided, Wikipedia:MOSTITLE is applied for the title of the article. The reason why vuvuzela is in italics because it is a foreign name, and it should be applied as stated here. Thanks, Davtra (talk) 09:24, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, indeed my link was wrong. Not being in an English speaking country I can't say if it is already an English word, but I can say using italics makes the article less readable. However, I wont meddle with the article if you feel this is the right way to do it. --Muhandes (talk) 09:35, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- No worries . The application of italics is what Wikipedia wants, not what I want. I'll discuss this with other editors and seek their advice and opinion. Thanks, Davtra (talk) 10:28, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi, would you be so kind as to give us support!
Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. My name is Claudi Balaguer (User Capsot of the Catalan Wikipedia and Occitan Wikiccionari), I've just read your profile and since you are a learned person and Jewish I think that you know very well what is to be part of a minority and what are a minorized language, culture and religion so maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm a member of a Catalan association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to this moment because Catalan is not supported by a state even though our Association is working real hard. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. Thanks again/תודה, wishing you a great summer, take care! Shalom (great meaning and great salute!) שלום Capsot (talk) 10:41, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Why not? You seem to be an apolitical group interested in furthering good will. And thanks for the compliments. --Muhandes (talk) 10:59, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Dear Muhandes, the reason I reverted the quotation marks was because they were within the "work" parameter of the {{cite web}} templates. When someone puts a quotation marks in teh workj parameter, like work=''[[MTV]]'', this is done so that online sources like MTV, BBC, etc etc donot appear italicized in the expanded reference in the reflist section. Hence, when you see quotation marks inside the work parameter, please don't remove them. --Legolas (talk2me) 12:39, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

I was actually going to restore your edit after I reverted all three edits of Tmt57 (which I for some reason forgot to do), see here that I was not aiming at your edit. I just didn't want to revert his edits one by one as it would violate WP:3RR. Muhandes,
Thanks for letting me know. I noticed that I had spelt this incorrectly a while back and was in the process of correcting all the K-1 pages with 'Offical' on (i.e. all 1 billion of them), only to get involved in something else and quickly forgot all about it. jsmith006 (talk) 20:28, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

May I suggest that if you are going to do more updating of Light List refs, that you use this template? It has the advantage that when (not "if") the Coast Guard changes the organization of its web site, we do not have to change hundreds of articles on Lighthouses, as a simple change to the template will do it. It's also faster and gives the complete title of the seven volumes. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 11:14, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- You do realize I just manually edited 200 pages without knowing of this? Grrrrrrr I'll redo it all. --Muhandes (talk) 11:21, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Is there a reason the template does not link to the actual volumes? Also, ISBN is missing. Shall I add it all? --Muhandes (talk) 11:49, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- I knew it was a lot -- you made quite a splash on my watchlist. It does no harm to leave them for now, but, as I said above, sooner or later the CG is going to rearrange its web site and then we'll have to update them. The State of Michigan did that recently with its NRHP information and the folks doing NRHP work in Michigan had to edit 500+ articles.
- While I have you, how about articles on the Israeli lighthouses? Category:Lighthouses in Israel is empty, but there are at least three that meet our criteria -- Akko/Acre, Mount Carmel, and Yafo/Jaffo. I'd be happy to work with you. I have the NIMA Light List which has all the formal details and Rowlett has some history.
- Finally, see Jonathan Belcher House for an addition to your "womens" list. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 11:59, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- (after edit conflict) Oops -- I see that what I predicted has happened -- the CG has changed its site organization. I'll fix the template, probably tonight, including your suggestion of going directly to the volume. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 11:59, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- I just updated the template. I note that one reason we might want to keep the reference to the top page rather than the individual volumes is that the download of the PDF takes a while and it might be better to use the top page as a proxy so that the reader can decide whether he/she actually wants to download the PDF.. . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 12:07, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- I see your point. But you can solve this by using the work= field to point to the page itself, isn't that exactly what the work= field is for? Something like work=[http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/index.php?pageName=lightLists United States Coast Guard Light Lists] Also, for completion, you might want to add the ISBN. --Muhandes (talk) 12:16, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- I resist using the ISBN in this case because anyone wanting to buy the paper book should not use the USCG ISBN -- almost all popular US Government publications are reprinted privately with a significantly lower selling price, so anyone using the official ISBN will pay too much for essentially the same book.. . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 12:34, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism about 64.180.39.64. There has been only one warning during the current period of editing. As for David Gill's "Boom Boom Boom" it is not notable enough for an article (see WP:NSONG) And David Gill is not notable enough for an article either (see WP:MUSICBIO), so I don't see how you can mention either. Lighthouse resources and Rowlett links
FYI, Here is how we handled these before. Before they deleted this template.

Content for 4 of these at:
- Yes, I read that discussion. It was an interesting idea, but apparently not acceptable under current practices. Maybe some time in the future an acceptable method for supplying a reading list will be available. I suppose one could use subset to enter a list and mark with comments, then to update send a bot to do it. If you are going to add a substantial amount of lighthouses and would like to try and figure out a way to do that let me know. Anyway, for now what I'm trying to do is supply an easy method for citing common individual references. If there is any additional individual source you think it would be helpful to templatize please let me know. --Muhandes (talk) 19:51, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- The Putnam national geographic article and his book (in the U.S. Sources) is very good, and contains a whole lot of material. It would at least apply to the articles/lighthouses mentioned in it. Rowlett is of course an omnibus source, albeit you need to get into the right row and pew, not just the church. I was not attempting to reprise the discussion, but simply to make sure you had the sources and the links that are in those templates. I don't know how you can use them in your quest, unfortunately. The need to manually put all (or any) of these into each article is daunting. Best regards. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 20:06, 4 August 2010 (UTC) Stan
Lighthouse and NRPH infobox coordinates
- Hi there. I noticed you are updating nrhp infoboxes (I noticed it for lighthouses) and in the process sometimes marking the lighthouse coordinates as inline, leaving the nrhp coordinates in the title. Is this the preferred way? I don't know about the ones you marked, but when I add a lighthouse I sometimes geolocate it very accurately, so are the nrhp coordinates always better? Best regards --Muhandes (talk) 09:51, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
The reason I did that is because if both the lighthouse infobox and NRHP infobox have the coordinates as inline and title, it causes both to appear in the title and makes the display bold, which is unnecessary. It's also unnecessary to have the coordinates listed in both infoboxes. Some National Register lighthouse articles lacked the NRHP infobox, and the only reason I added the NRHP coordinates is so that it could be displayed as a pinpoint on the Michigan map, which is built into the NRHP and lighthouse infobox but not often used in a lighthouse article (unless it's a NRHP). I've come across some NRHP articles where the coordinates are inaccurate, but I always check through Google or Bing Maps. If the coordinates do not match the site, I use this website to pinpoint the location and make corrections if needed. The only lighthouse articles I modified are the few ones that I listed as Michigan State Historic Sites. There are probably many more I haven't categorized yet, but I always check the coordinates for accuracy. — ♣№tǒŖïøŭş4lĭfė♫♪ 01:38, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- Very well, I just wanted to make sure these are not the coordinates from the NRHP lists since I know these are often quite far off. I personally use geolocator --Muhandes (talk) 19:25, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

To upload them to ms:wikipedia I will need to write a Fair Usage rational in Bahasa Melayu, which I don't speak. Is there a reason why you wont upload them yourself? As for uploading them to en:wikipedia, there is already one image used in the article, and I don't think I would be able to get another under fair usage. --Muhandes (talk) 07:31, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Trenchard
Would you be interested in translating the Hugh Trenchard, 1st Viscount Trenchard article into Hebrew? Greenshed (talk) 23:45, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- May I ask, to what end? I'd be happy to help translating articles into Hebrew, but I think they should be articles which have some interest to Hebrew speaking people, that is, mostly to Israelis. Otherwise I'm spending hours of my time on something that is far from my area of expertise, which will never be read. Is there any Israeli angle I am missing here? Was he somehow related to the British Mandate for Palestine? --Muhandes (talk) 07:23, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Well it was really simply because having done quite a lot of work on the article, and having limited knowledge of Hebrew, I would have enjoyed attempting to read even just the lead. More generally, the origins of air warfare (in which Trenchard played a significant part) might well be of interest to Israelis as to other nations. Alternatively, Amyas Borton was a early air force commander and his role in defeating the Turks in Palestine would probably make him of interest to Hebrew speaking people. Greenshed (talk) 11:30, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I'll give Amyas Borton a try when I'm done with my current project. How do you feel about a translation of the lead only? Would the lead of Hugh Trenchard, 1st Viscount Trenchard serve on itself? --Muhandes (talk) 06:01, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Doing the lead alone would be great on either Trenchard or Borton. Many thanks for your offer. Greenshed (talk) 12:15, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- I translated the lead of Hugh Trenchard, 1st Viscount Trenchard, see he:יו טרנצ'רד. This being my first translation, I am going to wait a little while to see how it is accepted, before doing any other translation. --Muhandes (talk) 12:41, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- Many thanks. Greenshed (talk) 15:47, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello, moved this one back as St is the only abbrev. used in Australia; there is a mistake in the reference for the article, but if you click on it you will see that it is correct thereafter. Regards (Crusoe8181 (talk) 11:08, 26 August 2010 (UTC)).
- I beg to differ. Check the logo http://www.stgeorgelight.org/image/Merchandise/LogoProtect.jpg. Also the official name of the organization is "St. George Lighthouse Association". Also the official website for the lighthouse http://www.stgeorgelight.org/ Uses "St." almost exclusively. Also check http://www.stgeorgelight.org/image/siteImages/ghlver2t.jpg, the sign in front of the park uses "St." --Muhandes (talk) 11:17, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- All of those are for the one in Florida in the the United States of America. Our poor wrecked thing is in Australia which is a country some distance away, and we dont have a protection society for it, as is, as we say, stuffed; In Australia we do not use St. as an abbrev. for Saint Regards (Crusoe8181 (talk) 11:28, 26 August 2010 (UTC)).
- You're right, I did get confused. I also corrected my error at List of lighthouses in Australia. Though I'm not familiar with Australian writing conventions, I suppose "don't" is still used down there? Cheers :) --Muhandes (talk) 11:38, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

I noticed you corrected my newspaper refs with the comment "that's not archiveURL." I'm still learning. Since the original article is only available as a scanned image on Google, should I be using the Google url as the primary url? By the way, thanks for cleaning that up for me. Hi there, thanks for your message. There are many words that could be used in this instance i.e. Broadcast, air, transmit etc. In standard english, 'present' is the action of a person, NOT a channel. The examples you have found on google may be 'non-standard' english which can be attributed to the many Indian-english articles on the subject. While this may be a common use of the word in some areas where english is a second language, it is not standard phrasing. I am quite happy for you to change the language of the article, but I strongly feel that 'presenting' is not an appropriate word in the context of this article. Bleaney (talk) 17:33, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think all the examples I gave are from the US, an English speaking country, not from a country in which English is a second language. Seriously, do a google search for "award presented by" and you will see that it is in fact much more common to say an award is presented by a company than it is to say it is presented by a person. I have also looked at oxford English dictionary, and in no place does it say the word "present" refers to a person only, it just says "give formally or ceremonially", which a company can do just as well as a person. Could this be a matter of British English vs. American English? Again, is there some source you may have that discusses this? I am trying to get to the bottom of this for my own knowledge. --Muhandes (talk) 17:53, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- It may be the tense that we have trouble with. 'Presenting' is not appropriate, 'presented by' MAY be appropriate, but it is still 'clumsy' english, both British and American English. Sorry, but can I ask, what is wrong with the suggestions I have given? Are you particularly attached to the word 'Presenting' because 'broadcasted by' means the same thing? Bleaney (talk) 18:00, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- I am not attached to any use, and in fact I care very little for the specific page. If I cared for the page, I'd do this discussion in the article's talk page, not here :) I just use the opportunity to improve my English. Specifically for this case, I'd say "broadcasted by" is not the same as "presented". Broadcast means "transmit by radio or television", a completely technical thing. B4U Music has broadcast the UK AMA solely since 2006, while it was presented by other companies. "Presented" means, as Oxford dictionary states, "give formally or ceremonially", so they are the ones giving the awards, essentially pulling the strings. It means their involvement is much deeper than just broadcasting the award show. Take for instance the Tony Awards. They are "presented by Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League". They are broadcast by CBS. These are two completely different things. In the case of the UK AMA they are both presented (awarded, given ceremonially) by B4U and broadcast (technically) by B4U, the former being the crucial one. If the tense is incorrect, and I do agree it sounds a bit clumsy used in present tense, maybe it's best to use passive, something like "Since 2008, the yearly UK Asian Music Awards (UK AMA) is presented by the B4U Music." Best regards, and thanks for helping me get to the bottom of this. --Muhandes (talk) 18:22, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Again, I have to disagree. I think the phraseology you are looking for is 'produced and broadcast by' rather than presented. Even using your example, it should be 'have been presented by' rather than 'is presented by' Bleaney (talk) 19:10, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- That does sound the best. Thanks for staying with me this long. --Muhandes (talk) 19:23, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

internal link
Hello, I added Confluence (academic journal), as an internal link to the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Page because it is not only mentioned in the article but quite relevant to the degree. Not sure why it was removed. Jimsteele9999 (talk) 19:56, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- You are correct, I didn't notice that the use in the article body was by external link. I just corrected it. --Muhandes (talk) 20:02, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think it would be best if AGLSP had a page too, since it's mentioned in the article (and at least two more).
- Maybe if I have the time I'll try to create one. You're help is appreciated.Jimsteele9999 (talk) 20:07, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

- Thanks for the help. I saw you've tinkered with Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, and wondered why the external links to the specific programs at various universities (mentioned in the article) were axed? I'll revert to your judgement on formatting, because you're a good resource. Thanks. Jimsteele9999 (talk) 00:00, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Flanagan Question
Dia dhuit (Hello),
A quick question ... why did you remove reference to the Clan Cathaoirleach for 2007, 2008 on the Flanagan page? Are you associated with the Registered Flanagan Clan and if so, who exactly are you? If not, why remove the reference to the Cathaoirleach of the Internationally Registered Clan recognised by the Clans of Ireland?

I saw your edits at OCAD University. I generally agree that redlinks need to be avoided for the most part but I'm not sure if I believe it's necessary to cite the blue links for notability. Having an article that is not eligible for deletion pretty much establishes notability. I didn't click through to the articles you're citing, so perhaps you are citing for OCAD affiliation? If so, would it be better to establish OCAD alumni status on the individual articles rather that on the OCAD article? It's just a thought and I don't necessarily oppose your edits nor do I intend to revert your work. Cheers. freshacconci talktalk 15:33, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'm citing for OCAD affiliation, an article's existence is, like you said, attesting to notability. As for requiring such sources, isn't WP:NLIST quite clear on this? "Furthermore, every entry in any such list requires a reliable source attesting to the fact that the named person is a member of the listed group." I've been on the sideline of quite a fierce argument on this in Talk:University of Ibadan, and other places (I should start making a list) and the result is always the same, sources are required. As I understand it, the subject article may change, removing the source, so a source is required whenever a claim is made that some individual did something. But perhaps I am missing something in this specific case? Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 15:47, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- No, actually that's an excellent point: articles change and someone's affiliation may be removed from one article so clicking the link would provide no information. To be honest, I prefer too many citations to too few and hate these endless, pointless lists providing very little information. My own usual method is just to remove an item from a list but this is more generous and furthers the project ultimately. Thanks. freshacconci talktalk 15:59, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
It is wrong what you did. Montenegro is Partially unrecognized UN member states
I am sorry that you taken such action. Wikipedia visiting public should be better informed. Montenegro is Partially unrecognized UN member states. This is true. Still today the Podgorica government continues to receive new knowledge from different countries. State of Kuwait is the last state that has recognized Montenegro in 27 July 2010. The public should be better informed. Please see [[1]]. Respects from Albania, Irvi Hyka —Preceding undated comment added 01:12, 13 September 2010 (UTC).
- Dear Irvi Hyka. I'm not doubting that Montenegro is partially recognized, nor do I say the public should not be better informed. What I'm saying is that there is a very clear consensus that only states that had their recognition denied by at least one other state are included. I'm sure you know all about consensus but I took the liberty to provide a link anyway. As you know consensus can change! That's what the talk page is for. I truly suggest that if you feel the consensus is wrong, and either 1) some country denies recognition of Montenegro (as opposed to doesn't recognize), or 2) the entire criteria should be changed, you start discussion in the talk page and achieve new consensus. --Muhandes (talk) 06:02, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi! A very concrete example: Zimbabwe and Lesotho have not recognized Montenegro. We can not treat certain things as we want, but as. Montenegro is an unrecognized Partially UN member states. This is fact. We can not deny. Irvi Hyka —Preceding undated comment added 12:44, 14 September 2010 (UTC).
- I'm not sure you are following the argument. Neither Zimbabwe nor Lesotho have denied recognition. Not recognizing is not the same as denying recognition. As you said, we can't just treat things as we want. This is a fact, and it cannot be denied. We also can't just edit articles as we want. There is a consensus, and we either follow it or establish a new consensus. Discussing this here with me is not going to help you establish a new consensus, the talk page is the place for this. NO worries about barging in re: Tao Lin. I might suggest replacing one of the tags, that I believe pertained to the fact it reads like an essay and/or needs more work. Speaking of, there are a few editors, with much more proficiency than I have (not saying much), whom are watching it. This is because as I have tried to improve it, reverts come in like gangbusters. The subject is known to promote himself and his works at any expense, so the first thing I did was remove his many blogs. Also, you'll note many of the previous edits, by anons, were based out of NYU, and subsequently blocked. I may be unwatching the page soons as the reverts are getting tiresome and the article is of low importance, but I do appreciate your time. Jimsteele9999 (talk) 11:54, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
re: Merge of Plant of the Apes characters
Merging secondary characters into one article and leaving major characters in their own article is not a "major merge". It's not controversial to include such minor characters in one list or a combined list with both minor and major characters structured like List of Battle Royale characters and List of Twilight characters. Sottolacqua (talk) 02:25, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- I never said it is controversial, and maybe in this case it isn't. I just hold the opinion that since some editor thought they are better off in their own article, it's civil to start discussion and reach consensus before undoing their work. I know if I was the editor who originally created those articles I'd appreciate it. I guess one can always go bold and risk it, but going civil works better for me, so I'd appreciate discussion in the future. Anyway, I'm not going to press this since it's done. There are some technicalities which need to be followed though, for example, the redirects should use {{R to merge}}, they are better off linking to section, etc., and since you don't seem to care for these things as well, I'll do them. Best regards and happy editing. --Muhandes (talk) 07:26, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Instead of assuming what the original editor would have appreciated regarding the merge or what processes and actions I "care for", you should assume good faith. "Best regards and happy editing." Sottolacqua (talk) 11:03, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- I apologize if I sounding snarky, indeed I have no place assuming what you care for. I was mainly stating the fact these changes were not done and I'd be happy to do them for you, which I did. I don't see how asking for discussion is related to assuming good faith, but if you find it offending I apologize for that as well. And I do wholeheartedly wish you happy editing. --Muhandes (talk) 11:53, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Sanjoy Ghose
I have been adding references as per feedback.
Is there something specific I should do for references? Are there specific statements, which are "out of the norms" for a wikipaedia entry?
Since I knew Sanjoy Ghose from college, IRMA and Tribhuvandas Foundation,I have a bit more material about him. Since this is personal opinion, I have tried to be careful not to allow such viewpoints to come onto the page. If inadvertently some personal opinion has crept in, please let me know.

- The short answer - everything needs a source. You can't make any claim without supporting it with a reliable source. Here's just the first paragraph or two, broken to facts. Each needs a source:
- Born in Nagpur
- spent his formative years and his adolescence in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
- Sanjoy Ghose belonged to a well known Bengali family.
- Bhaskar Ghose, erstwhile Director General of Doordarshan, the Indian public television network, is his uncle.
- His two aunts are Ruma Pal a former Supreme Court judge,
- and Arundhati Ghose , former diplomat and India's permanent representative to the United Nations during the 1990s.
- was educated at the elitist Cathedral and John Connon School.
- He was the president of his school wing of the Interact club - which is the Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18.
- His father recalls, "As a school going boy he spent two nights in a Bombay (presently Mumbai) slum in torrential rain just to get a feel of the real problems that plague slums."
And so on and so forth. Usually one source is enough for many facts, I'm sure there is some obituary or bibliography with most of it. --Muhandes (talk) 17:31, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Adding references to Sanjoy Ghose
I added a reference for Sanjoy GHose's aunt being Arundhati Ghose.
I have written an obit myself. Please see http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/~venu/SANJOY/sarma.article.html.
I did not quote this, as it would be quoting myself?
Welcome any suggestion to add value, keeping in view this objective of just remembering this very talented individual, who gave up a life of luxury and ease, to serve the poorest of the poor.
It seems that it is not vandalism, this article has a very important role in which football applies. Its "low" important is just not right. This article has received an unfair scale of importance. They only see them and characterize them at where they are. They cannot read the article, and they give them a bad score. Many users in the article community have made this article better since it first started. I hope you understand. Jaime070996 (talk) 22:34, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- No I don't understand. It is not for you to decide what article is Featured article. There is a process that needs to be followed. The article was only assessed lately. If you want it reassessed ask at the appropriate project, don't just randomly change it. --Muhandes (talk) 22:38, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- It is like improving what is already improved. 'Why would you want to help a rich person when you could help a poor person.' One question- Would you 'steal' from a rich person to give a poor person. Jaime070996 (talk) 22:45, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- This is not the point. The point is that there is an assessment process. Other people assess your work, not yourself. And there is a specific process for GA and FA. I suggest you add the article to Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Assessment and have them assess it. --Muhandes (talk) 22:48, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I did. Pardon me for the argument, though. You could of told me that I could of had the article assessed. Thanks... Jaime070996 (talk) 22:54, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

edit on sabarimala
i added a good external link only; not internal. is that link a bad or useless one? Goodhindu (talk) 12:17, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- Please peruse WP:EL. First, external links belong only in only three places - as sources, in infoboxes, and in the external links section. Almost half the links you added simply failed this. Second, they "should be kept minimal, meritable, and directly relevant to the article". The site you linked was in most cases not directly relevant to the article. Even when it was, it failed WP:ELNO rule #1, as it did not provide "a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a featured article". Even if there was some material at that site which would have passed that, your link was too broad for the reader to find it. Specifically in the case of Sabarimala, what unique resource does this site add? I could not find any. --Muhandes (talk) 13:02, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

- Warn them, and if it continues, ask for intervention. --Muhandes (talk) 16:23, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
Jernade Miah
I am inquiring regarding the speedy deletion of a page I created for a singer called Jernade Miah. He is the first signing in nearly a decade to the most successful ind pendant urban label in the UK, 2Point9. Jernade being signed to 2Point9/DohPointNau records is notable as they are the label that created Craig David (most succesful worldwide UK urban artist) MisTeeq (most succesful UK Urban girl group) and recently Jay Sean (first UK urban artist to ever have a number 1 single in the USA). As such given that they have only handled those 3 acts that the signing of their fourth (Jernade Miah) would be notable and reference worthy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Phyberoptikz (talk • contribs) 21:14, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- There are very clear and simple guidelines regarding notability of a musician. Being signed by a label, no matter how important, is not one of them. Please don't recreate the page without providing a reliable source testifying to one of those notability requirements. --Muhandes (talk) 21:50, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
