Texas Historical Commission markers
editI did some checking into the use of photos of Texas historical markers. As per the website for THC (FAQ section) - The fact that private funds are used for part of the process does not mean that markers are owned by individuals; they are state markers and are property of the State of Texas. [1] Just as this building: Texas State Capitol is state property which can be photographed, markers can be as well. I have re-added the photo here. If you disagree with my interpetation, please let me know and we can discuss. Thanks. JungleCat Shiny!/Oohhh! 22:05, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Punctuation/Quotes
editRegarding your edit/re-edit to Lifehouse, please see WP:MOST#Punctuation. "Whether the title is in italics or quotes, added punctuation ... belongs outside the markup". The main Manual of Style supports this as well. I've taken the liberty of putting it back outside, per accepted guidelines. Just thought I'd let you know why personally instead of trying to cram the explanation into the edit summary. --Fru1tbat (talk) 00:11, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Korean American list
editWhy did you removed all these Korean-American from the article just because no one cited ref?--Korsentry 07:39, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
For individuals to be given on the list, they must be "notable." At the top of the list page is this statement defining notability:
"To be included in this list, the person must have a Wikipedia article showing they are Korean American or must have references showing they are Korean American and are notable."
I removed any individuals who did not meet one of the two requirements. --Mulder8281 (talk) 12:50, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Capitalization of headings
editThe Wikipedia style for capitalizing headings is to use "sentence case" instead of "title case", e.g.,
- Important things to know about this subject
not:
- Important Things to Know About This Subject
This may be unfamiliar to many editors who believe that or have been taught that "title case is the right way to capitalize headings". It isn't the "right way", it is one style. Wikipedia has, for better or worse, chosen to follow a different style, i.e., capitalize the heading the same way you would capitalize any sentence:
- capitalize the first word,
- capitalize any proper nouns (people, places, organizations), and
- begin all other words with lower case letters.
See WP:MSH for more information. Thanks, Ground Zero | t 19:21, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
