What the fuck! .... I hate you all

Misunderstanding?

edit

Hi...I noticed your post on my talk page. You seemed to be upset about me deleting something. I'm not sure I know what you are referring to...I haven't nominated anything for deletion recently. Could you have me mixed up with someone else, maybe? Anyway, I'm sorry that whatever it was was deleted. I know it kind of stinks to have something you worked hard on deleted like that.

And while I'm here...

Welcome!

Help with article

edit

Okay. What article is it that you want to get up and running? It's Jodi Explodi and Creatures of the Tight (album), right? (I found the titles on your talk page history. When an admin deletes an article, they also delete the record of the article as well, so you can't see it ever existed.)

Okay. A couple of things: (and I'm still writing a few more, but I just wanted to get this one out there first.)

  • If you want to work on an article without any chance of it getting instantly deleted, you can work on it in your personal sandbox. A sandbox is a page where you can work on your test edits and on your pet projects before they are ready to be posted as a real article. (I noticed that you were asking an editor to give you a few more days to get your sources together. In a sandbox, you can have all the time you want.) If you would like a sandbox for yourself, I would be happy to set one up for you. It would only take me a minute or so. Just ask me on my talk page.
  • Oh, and by the way, you can sign your username after your talk page posts by typing four tildes like this ~~~~ . The tilde is the button to the left of "1" on your keyboard. You press "SHIFT" and that button to make the tilde.
Actually, below where you type your edits there is a link that signs your username. It's just below the line that says, "Do not copy text from other websites without a GDFL-compatible license." It says, "Sign your username," and then the signature button is those four little tildes to the right of that.
That's how the other editors do this: SunDragon34 (talk) 22:21, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Like I said, I have a few other things that I will post in a minute or so, but I just wanted to put this one out first in case you wanted me to set up a sandbox for you. I hope I can help! If you have any questions or problems about working on Wikipedia, feel free to ask me on my talk page. SunDragon34 (talk) 22:21, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

More help

edit
  • I'm sure someone has mentioned WP:RS (Reliable sources), WP:BAND (Notability guidelines for music) or WP:N (Notability) to you during your conversations. These are two important Wikipedia policies, and many new articles get deleted according to one of these policies. If you read up on WP:RS, you will see the kinds of sources you will have to include in the article to make it WikiLegit meet the notability guidelines. What's great is that if you include reliable, published sources in your article, no one will object to having the article around unless it is not notable (See below)
  • WP:N talks about the subject of your article, and what they need to be acceptable to Wikipedia. WP:BAND#Criteria for musicians and ensembles tells you exactly what you need to convince others that your music article is notable. Let's take Jodi Explodi as an example. If you can find a relible source verifying any of the criteria in WP:BAND for Jodi Explodi, it will help you tremendously in convincing other editors to keep your article. And even if you can't find any of these sources now, the sources will become available as the band becomes more famous and is covered in more sources, and then you can make the article easily.

Keep me informed as to how it goes. I'm happy to help! SunDragon34 (talk) 22:37, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox

edit

I went ahead and made a sandbox for you. It's the link on your userpage. This will help you put your articles together before you actually publish them. If you don't want the link on your userpage, you can undo my edit on your userpage. The sandbox will still be there, but you'll have to type its name in the search bar or bookmark it to get to it. I think you'll find it useful.

Glad to help! SunDragon34 (talk) 22:44, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

About the subpages: you could also use Special:PrefixIndex/User:MurphyMcMurphy. Cheers, Face 18:46, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
