Dudley High School

I do not understand why you deleted my addition of Ron Lee to the notable alumni of Dudley High School. He is a famous photographer and the brother of Debra Lee.Robertaterry (talk) 17:43, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey there! Thanks for getting in touch with me about this. I patrol recent changes on Wikipedia. I reverted your edit because of a number of reasons. Lists of notable alumni in Wikipedia pages about schools are very often vandalized, but I can see now that your intentions were in good faith. I did a quick search of "Ronald McLeish Lee" and did not find many results about photography, which led me to question the notability of this person, and it's inclusion in this list. Secondly, I felt the wording "internationally renowned" lacked neutrality. Here at Wikipedia we strive to keep a neutral point of view. You'll notice the other notable alumni listed state merely their profession and do not contain puffery. Such wording can lend undue weight to this person in contrast to the others. Learn more about what words to watch for at WP:PEACOCK. Last and most importantly, no reference was added. Providing a reliable source would eliminate any question of notability. Hopefully now you understand why I reverted your edit. I see you added Ron Lee back to the list. Perhaps you could improve upon it given the aforementioned criteria to avoid any further debate regarding it's inclusion in the list. Let me know if you need any help! — MusikAnimal talk 18:56, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

deletion of Krishna Athal page

Hi I created this page and I wish to delete this page now as it contains invalid information about me. Last time i deleted it you restored it back, can you please help. regards Jawaharlall Athal — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jawaharlall.athal (talkcontribs) 19:05, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

I added back the db-author template, which tells other editors you wish to have the page deleted. Give it some time and the administrators will take care of it. Cheers! — MusikAnimal talk 19:09, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
Did you check the past history? This has already been proposed for Speedy deletion G7, and declined, as is noted on the talk page - there have been other editors involved. If this is going to be deleted, it needs to be done via WP:AfD. AndyTheGrump (talk) 19:15, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
Yup, just saw Boing's message on the talk page, my mistake. Probably should revert back to the last AfD request (nothing's changed since)? — MusikAnimal talk 19:19, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
Disregard what I just said. Clearly I have some learning to do! Sorry for the confusion, both of you. I guess Jawaharlall.athal you see now why it can't be speedy deleted? You are still welcome to nominate for deletion at WP:AfD, first reviewing the deletion policy. Thanks — MusikAnimal talk 19:41, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

BabaSant 20:11, 3 June 2013 (UTC) Haha its still complicated for me. Well thing is that press and other media are using this information which is not true in their reports - and sourcing wikipedia. I wish to have this page deleted. I created this page myself and things got distorted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jawaharlall.athal (talkcontribs)

Eli Porter

i had previously made an edit on Eli Porter and for some reason you have chosen to delete it what i said is true. I know this because there is legitimate proof as you can find a video called eli vs envy on youtube that will show you Mr. Porters great rapping skills and creativity and most importantly the re edit of this page. at the end the final word is yours as you can do any changes to this page but please look at the proof and rethink about your choices.

your welcome.

ps. please know that this is no intent to mess around and i strongly respect your actions on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.24.201.184 (talk) 20:40, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello! I appreciate your civility. I reverted your edit from Eli P. Ashmun as it appeared to constitute vandalism, however clearly are you instead just confused. This article is not about the Eli Porter you speak of, but rather a United States Senator who lived back in the 18th and 19th centuries, well before rap or hip hop existed. Hopefully that clears things up for you – however we do appreciate your good intentions as a contributor. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 20:48, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Waterford, CT Edits

Mr. MusikAnimal:

Just a heads up. Students are working on adding to the page for Waterford, CT. I appreciate your diligence in keeping the page clean by editing out half sentences. I just wanted you to know that its not done maliciously, they (and me) are newbies still finding our way. Mcadorette (talk) 19:07, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

No worries, thanks for letting me know. However I highly recommend utilizing the sandbox (public), where you are free to make as many test edits as you wish without disrupting the flow of a live article. Registered users can edit their own personal sandbox by clicking here. Also remember to preview your changes before saving them. Hope this helps! Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 19:23, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Rule of Acquisition #285

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIBT-JYiCuE At about 5:18, the rule is named. Since it's canon (Deep Space Nine Episode 25, Season 6: "The Sound of Her Voice"), I decided to add it. If it's an issue of lack of citation, then mea culpa; I'd seen that most of the examples in the page were not cited, so I figured it was OK to add without it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.82.164.82 (talk) 21:39, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey! I actually reverted your edit because it appeared to be a test edit. I use a semi-automated program called STiki to fight vandalism, and it marks all test edits as vandalism, which I don't fully agree with, as described here. So anyway, you put your entry in with the list of references, when I assume you wanted it in the mentioned rules section. Obviously an accompanying referenced is preferred, but this doesn't look likely to be challenged, and we want you to be bold, so feel to add it in with the rest of mentioned rules – just follow the same format – and you're good to go. Sorry for the confusion. — MusikAnimal talk 21:52, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.82.164.82 (talk) 05:18, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Need to post an article about Ronald McLeish Lee

How do you post a biographical article? Thanks. There is not much out there about him as he has been quite reclusive since the 1980's. Robertaterry (talk) 11:19, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey there! More than happy to help you. Before you do anything, I strongly recommend reading over the notability guideline on people. When I tried to find a source for Ronald Lee I could not find anything other than his own website. There are strict rules on biographies of living persons. If you are unable to find a reliable, secondary source, your article will most likely get proposed for deletion. So work on finding sources first. This step is part of the guide to your first article, which I also recommend you read over. I see you've made a draft version of your article on your talk page... as the guide mentions, you should create this in your userspace as a subpage, e.g. User:Robertaterry/Ronald McLeish Lee. Then once you think you're done, you can optionally submit it for review before moving it to the "live" part of Wikipedia. The article wizard can help expedite everything I've just explained. Let me know if you need anymore help! Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 14:24, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. Finding sources has been a source of difficulty as he went underground in the 1980's.Robertaterry (talk) 03:02, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Changes to HoE school page

I was merely referring to the well know school motto as used by the students of the school- YOLO has been handed down for many years now! Not official, so I can understand your revert! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.32.4.34 (talk) 18:35, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey! My apologies if this in fact correct. Vandalistic edits containing the acronym "YOLO" are extremely common. YOLO is often interpreted as a joke, so tagging it as a school's motto is likely to be challenged or interpreted as libelous, so I felt this warranted removal. If this is indeed the motto, it would help if you could provide a reference, as original research is not welcomed. Let me know if you need any help! Thanks — MusikAnimal talk 18:43, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Help

I had done a mistake at the page The Million Pound Drop Live. Please undo the page.

--Franz Baby 256 (talk) 13:21, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes, you blanked the page, as you have several times with this article. There is no need to ever blank an article unless you've created it yourself. I'm assuming you are trying to make some dramatic changes to this article but are having trouble doing so. Might I recommend first starting a discussion on the talk page? That way we're all clear on what you're trying to do. Next, you appear to be having trouble with wiki markup. You can use your sandbox to play around with markup without disrupting live articles. You should also remember to preview your changes and fill out the edit summary as well so other editors are aware of your intentions. Hope this helps! — MusikAnimal talk 15:26, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Denis MacShane

My amendment to the Sophie, Countess of Wessex page was deleted by yourself.

The basis of my amendment refering to Mr MacShane's criminality was to point out that the criticism of Sophie, Countess of Wessex was coming from Mr MacShane - a deeply unreliable source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.173.107.112 (talk) 17:16, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey! I monitor recent changes, so actually am not any bit familiar with the subject of this article. All I saw was the addition of libelous content about a living person, Denis MacShane. Here at Wikipedia we strive to maintain a neutral point of view, especially on living persons (even though this is not the biography on MacShane). Is there anyway you could provide a reliable source to back up your claim? Also perhaps word it to not sound so defamatory? — MusikAnimal talk 17:31, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/denis-macshane-expenses-cheat-former-1881321

Reliable source sited above. I'm not trying to be unkind about Mr MacShane, only truthful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.173.107.112 (talk) 17:38, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

I can agree that this source is reliable enough, and that your intentions were clearly in good faith; However I still don't know if such wording to describe MacShane is necessary, let alone belong in this article at all. The idea is to keep things concise and unbiased; Even if it may be a widespread view, defamatory content doesn't really add any encyclopedic value, and conflicts with our goals. We want to stick to the facts without adding any opinions or personal insight. For instance, in the Denis MacShane it lists such controversies, but you'll notice there's no wording to defame MacShane. We simply state the facts (sourced), and leave the interpretation up to the reader. Learn more about our policy on neutrality at WP:POV. If you have anymore questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask! — MusikAnimal talk 17:58, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Actually looks like the neutrality of the main article has been disputed as well. Perhaps not the best example then... at any rate it should be clear why this is an issue. Sounds like MacShane is subject to much controversy. These situations are hard to deal with as many editors take sides, so anything you could do to help is appreciated. Cheers! — MusikAnimal talk 18:05, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

changes to direct current (dc) capitalization

Changes made were to make the page consistent with the only standards body that I found that has weighed in on correct capitalization. A reference was given. Is there a better way to put in this change to keep it from being reverted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.47.225.62 (talk) 02:50, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey there, very interesting findings! First off, I can see now that your edit was in good faith so I apologize for treating it as vandalism. I read the reference you provided and it seems credible, however all of the other references do not have it lowercased. Take a look at WP:CAPSACRS; For an example, scuba and laser are commonly lowercased acronyms, as is reflected in their corresponding articles. DC, on the other hand, appears to be more commonly uppercased. Furthermore, if we changed it to lowercase in this article, we'd then have to change it in the AC article, and every other article that links to them... as we want to stay consistent throughout articles. The first sentence of the lead section does imply dc as another (less) common representation of the acronym; Perhaps it could be expanded on elsewhere in the lead section. Hope this helps! Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 04:16, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Tim Loughton MP

The section regarding the police investigation into Loughton after he sent an abusive email to myself is misleading. At no point did any of the allegations made against myself by Loughton made under Parliamentary Privilege, actually happen, he lied, made them all up, knowing full well that I could not challenge him under UK law. Any allegations made by Loughton are allegations, and yet when I have attempted to place "alleged" before his statements about myself they have been repeatedly removed. I am not prepared to read lies about myself on wikipedia, and just because an MP said it, it doesn't instantaneously make it fact. 81.106.116.168 (talk) 19:49, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I am unfamiliar how to correctly handle this as there have been lawsuits about false allegations of living persons, however the section in question has two reliable references that support the referring content – making it difficult for you or anyone to challenge it. I'm afraid that regardless if you are directly involved with the subject or not, your personal claims and/or original research are not sufficient reasoning to warrant removal of sourced content, see WP:CONFLICT. I'd recommend starting a discussion on the accompanying talk page to reach a consensus before making anymore such changes, and refrain from edit warring as this could lead to you being blocked. Hope this helps! — MusikAnimal talk 20:10, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Evelyn Kozak

I don't understand what the problem was you had with my edit that she was the last known living Jewish person born before 1900. It is verifiable on many sources on the web. Zz pot (talk) 02:59, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey! I failed to give a more descriptive reason on your talk page, and for that I am sorry. What you just said was in fact the reason why I reverted it! Claiming the subject was the last living Jew born before 1900 is likely to be challenged, to the extent that I felt it warranted removal. If you could find a reliable source to accompany this claim, it would be much less likely be questioned. Learn more about how to add references at WP:REFBEGIN. Let me know if you need any help! — MusikAnimal talk 14:34, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

I'll be honest, I have no idea what you're trying to say, but the section you are trying to remove is well sourced, and hence very debatable that it should removed at all. At the least, be sure to fill out the edit summary so other editors are aware of your intentions. There appears to be a discussion regarding this on the talk page, I'd recommend you to take part in that until a consensus is reached. In the meantime it is probably best to leave the content as is. If I can find time I'll try to dive more into the discussion and help determine what should be done. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 16:45, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Cardinalidae page needed

I think we need a page for CARDINALIDAE that is separate from the one for Cardinals. Right now, CARDINALIDAE redirects to CARDINAL (Bird). CARDINALIDAE is an entire family of birds. Cardinals are just a few species.

The AOU (American Ornithological Union) is the primary authority on bird taxonomy in the US. They list the CARDINALIDAE as a family at this page: http://checklist.aou.org/taxa/3008

So we need a family page. Once we get one, the wiki page for BIRD FAMILIES should be edited to replace CARDINAL (Bird) with the family page.

Thanks !!

Cool! Well you have a few options. You could submit a request for the article to be created, or you could be bold and write it yourself. If you would like to write it yourself, I recommend creating a Wikipedia account first, however this is not required. Before getting started, take a look at WP:YFA and when you're confident you have enough content and references, you can create your article here. It will then be submitted for review, and if there are issues, the reviewers will get in touch with you on how to improve it. Hope this helps! — MusikAnimal talk 19:39, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Ibazar Changes

Hello, I am in charge of constructing a new page for Ibazar, a classifieds branch of Ebay launching in Mexico. I am trying to stop it from redirecting to Ebay and form its own page. Any help is appreciated. Edgargvelasco (talk) 21:34, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Sure! Here's what you need to do; Since IBazar is already an article (but just a redirect), I recommend creating your article in the user space first before moving it to the main article. That way we can make one clean move to rollout the full article. So create a draft article using the article wizard, carefully noting the mentioned guidelines (good sources, etc), before actually creating the draft. Create the draft, and when you're ready, you can optionally submit the article for review. Otherwise if you are confident then feel free to copy and paste and replace the redirect page. I should mention you are free to just simply edit the IBazar article as it is right now without doing the draft process, just make sure to leave an edit summary so others are aware of your intentions. Let me know if you need any more help! — MusikAnimal talk 21:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

HSUS edits

Hi,

Sorry about not clarifying my edits. I feel incredibly strongly, however, that the HSUS page reflects a lot of bias. There is an enormous amount of criticism by the CCF, and since they are an extremely small organization (compared to other consumer advocate organizations, compared to HSUS) this seems unwarranted. They are also dubiously credible, to say the least. At worse I would suggest a single header of "criticism from CCF" instead of spreading out each of their specific points into different sections. This seems to give each point far more weight than it deserves. But I apologize for the abrupt change; I have never edited wikipedia before, but was only struck by a strong urge to rid the HSUS page of all this misleading information.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.201.251.42 (talk) 15:01, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey there! I recommend starting a discussion on the talk page before removing that amount sourced content. Have you checked the sources? Are they credible? We certainly don't want any biased information but any viewpoint lending due weight and considered encyclopedic is not warrant for removal. See what the other editors say and we'll go from there. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 15:31, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Help in capitalizing title?

Hi there! Thanks for your review of my article. Since I'm new here, and you seem like a veteran, I was wondering if you could help me edit the title of my article from "Eastline marketing" to "Eastline Marketing"? I tried using template:DISPLAYTITLE but it didn't work.

Xavier Richards

Hi MusikAnimal, yes I am very new to Wikipedia and yes I do need help with making pages. Thank you so much for the help I really appreciate is and I will use article wizard with helping making my first page. SO thank you for the help and I will send you a message when I have completed the page and if you wouldn't mind if I can let's say get the infobox working could u maybe tell me what to do and fix it up for me. But thank you anyway for the message.

Regards jack.normo

Sure thing! Do you want to redo entirely using the article wizard? I can instead monitor your progress on the mainspace article at Xavier Richards, but please do not remove the maintenance templates at the top, as this will let other editors know you are working on it and that the article is not complete. — MusikAnimal talk 04:03, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Wow, looks like The-Pope filled in all the blanks for you! The article is saved. I will have to personally thank him. Anyways, no need for the article wizard this time, but for your next article you should use it. Thanks for joining the Wikipedia community. Cheers! — MusikAnimal talk 04:10, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
um no thanks I got some help so the page is fine now but thank you Jack.normo (talk) 04:18, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Yep, I noticed. The-Pope is a good man! — MusikAnimal talk 04:20, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Yes he is haha. Hey I was just wondering how do you get those "badges" on your page like the badge that says "this user is a mammal", "this user hails from new York" I am just very curious to know so if you could let me know that would be nice and also thanks for the picture on my page, I am yet to find out how to do that. Jack.normo (talk) 04:28, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

The "badges" are called userboxes. There's tons of them out there, and you can even create your own. A gallery of many of them can be found here. Some of the ones you see on my page I created, but you're welcome to steal them. The code is at User:MusikAnimal/Userboxes. — MusikAnimal talk 04:32, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
No problems, I keep an eye on Special:RecentChangesLinked/List_of_current_AFL_team_squads which is how I found the page so quickly. Done a fair few of basic stubs for AFL players, so it was an easy one to do. Thanks for the beer. Cheers, The-Pope (talk) 04:35, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
You bet! — MusikAnimal talk 04:36, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Ok thanks. Jack.normo (talk) 04:40, 3 July 2013 (UTC) Hi again I went to the userboxes page but how do u actually get them is there a accept button or anything?

If you went to Wikipedia:Userboxes/Drink and wanted say, the "This user bleeds hot chocolate" userbox, you would use code shown next to it. So on your userpage you would put {{User:Theunicyclegirl/Hotchocolate}}. If you wanted to create your own it'd be a little more complicated, but like I said there's tons of userboxes out there. — MusikAnimal talk 04:49, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Ok so u just copy and paste it onto your userpage or what Thanks Jack.normo (talk) 04:50, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello! A quick mention of the festival would suffice. I feel you may have gone too much into detail about the event, so much that it sounded promotional, e.g. encouraging readers to attend (saying when the next one is, that it was "hugely successful", etc). Your changes were also unsourced, and this is a good artcile. Good articles are meticulously crafted by fellow editors to meet criteria that establishes it as among the encyclopedia's best. This means any adding any unreferenced content could threaten it's good article status. Learn more at WP:REFBEGIN. For this reason, and the fact that your wording sounded promotional, I felt it warranted removal. I realize you may be new to Wikipedia and perhaps do not fully understand our guidelines. CSD A7 of Cindy Siegel

In this case CSD:A7 doesn't apply as the criteria itself says: "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines." In this case, Mayor is a credible claim of significance. However the person's notability looks doubtful, so I've redirected to the town that they are mayor of, as it's a plausible search term. Valenciano (talk) 15:44, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up! I agree that the redirect is likely the best move in the situation, so let's stick with that. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 20:03, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Regarding Pig Beach

Hello, I'm MusikAnimal. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Pig Beach, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. — MusikAnimal talk 17:13, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Interestingly, the bot reverted the page to the vandalized state, and then reverted to an older state in another change (losing a minor fix someone else had made). I made two changes: first to revert the vandalism, and second to change the name back to the official name (I used the common name in my original edit).

The bot was me, and the loss of your minor fix was a mistake, sorry about that. There were several vandalistic edits in a row so I reverted to what appeared to be the last clean revision. Your minor fix and any other constructive edits are welcomed. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 17:34, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Your recent edit on a proxy talk page

You recently edited the page [User_talk:168.215.131.150] to express annoyance about a recent edit. May I politely suggest reading the page first before editing it? You would have noticed that it's from an open proxy for a library and making any such notice is worthless. Suggested courses of action are noted on that page. If you're going to suggest edits that are constructive, please kindly do the same. --168.215.131.150 (talk) 17:40, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey! I use semi-automated software to patrol recent changes. This software does not check if the IP is a hostpot, or an educational IP, etc. Manually checking talk pages would be tedious and unrealistic, as I go through hundreds of edits a day – however I can add a feature request for the software to do this for me. The real issue is if someone editing through this proxy makes many disruptive edits rapidly over and over, we have to notify the administrators somehow, and it's up to them on what to do, usually a soft block. Furthermore, an innocent user who happens to check the talk page should see the notice at the top, which encourages logging in or creating an account to avoid irrelevant notices. I could be wrong, but I think the "you are currently blocked" notice when attempting to edit a page also encourages creating an account. So anyways not much I can do at the moment. I'll talk to some administrators and see about other solutions. Thanks for bringing this up! On a fun side note, I'm from Charlotte, NC, so kind of cool I guess! — MusikAnimal talk 17:54, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

I make so many edits that I don't know exactly which one you are referring to. As for Kieran Culkin, I was just comparing the bios of the entire family on Wikipedia and making them consistent. I'm sure whatever I posted was referenced at some point but I'm not taking the time to reread 5 or 6 articles on different family members and track it down. Whatever the addition is that you undid will just remain undone on that particular page. I don't feel strongly about this and the bio will just remain incomplete.

I think it is an odd choice though, spending time on Wiki, checking to make sure editors reference every minor statement they make. Different strokes, I guess.

P.S. Reading over your Talk page, it appears that you use a "bot" to scan recent changes and undo ones that don't meet some parameters you've set. I think this automatic process is prone to error...I think there are more productive activities. 69.125.134.86 (talk) 15:32, 11 July 2013 ( UTC)

Hey there! I apologize as I realize your edit was in good faith, and I did not mean to question you as a valuable contributor. Kieran Culkin is a biography on a living person, and we take these types of articles seriously, see WP:BOLP. I felt saying his sister was killed in a car accident, however sad, could be considered libelous (and even off-topic, that is, without saying how the accident effected Culkin). The fact that another article has this sourced does not apply. We have to add references on a per-article basis, to ensure verifiability. You'll also note this article already has a notice for lack of references, so it's highly preferred that we try to improve on that.
I use several tools to monitor changes, and none of them are bots. The only automation is posting a message on the user's talk page, the revert itself is reasoned by me alone and not the software. At any rate, I hope you understand why I reverted your edit, and please let me know if there's anything more I can do to help! — MusikAnimal talk 15:53, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

"Florida Breaks"

your version of who started FLorida breaks vs who popularized them need to be separated in order to make more sense.

though-out history certain people invite thing and then other actually make them popular.

Which is more important is a whole other discussion but they need to be separated/ corrected. Also this discussion is related to FL breaks, not Miami bass, nuschool or other variations. Keep this in mind.

The article needs edited as you can not have funk lab with out Defcon 6 and so on. Please do some research or let somebody edit it who knows.

thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.9.84.146 (talk) 16:48, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi! I actually have little to no knowledge about the subject of this article. I patrol recent changes, and noticed User:SoKi13 (possibly you?) removed a large amount of content without explaining why. This is generally warrants a revert, so I reverted it, restoring the content. You'll notice another patroller and a bot made the same revert. If you are SoKi13 or would like to remove the same content yourself, I recommend first discussing this on the talk page, and be sure to provide a valid edit summary for your changes so that others are aware of your intentions. If you need anymore help let me know. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 17:32, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Jim McGuinness

Yeah I agree it isn't particularly constructive but the whole article reads like a propaganda piece - e.g. "credited with devising "The System"—a style of play which has annihilated rival teams—McGuinness's achievements are widely recognised". I don't know if you're a fan of Gaelic Football but this is pretty over-the-top. The fact that 'the system' has a pretty large article of its own is cringe-worthy and obviously penned by hardcore Donegal supporters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.137.221.101 (talk) 17:51, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Answer to Edit

Hey man. Are you sure those titles aren't fake? There have been many fake titles recently, so I just wanted to remove the last two since I'm not sure if they were fake or not. If they're legit, sorry. :/ PS: I don't know if the way I'm chatting with you like this is correct, I'm new to this stuff. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elite1999 (talkcontribs) 16:05, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Take a look at Help:Using talk pages on how to use talk pages. In regards to reverting your edits, I have no idea if these are the correct names or not. The revert was because you didn't say why you removed the content, you should always add an edit summary to explain edits like this. Maybe do a little Googling and find out if these names are correct? You could also start a discussion on the articles talk page to get input from other editors who are familiar with the subject. I recommend doing that. Let me know if you need more help! — MusikAnimal talk 16:12, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
I also added a welcome template to your talk page to help get you started with Wikipedia. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 16:13, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Content Removal

MusikAnimal,

I removed the content you had posted on Superintendent Cindy Hill because it was loaded with biased, mis-information. The way in which you created the text indicates to me that you know this and that your primary purpose for creating the profile was to harm an elected official by putting unsubstantiated content in a Wikipedia page.

Be clear, on behalf of the Superintendent, I will be constantly monitoring this page you have created. I find it improper of you to have created a Wikipedia page for State Superintendent Hill filled with biased negative content since you are not Cindy, nor do you represent her in any capacity. I am extremely unimpressed with your ethics, the removal of your so called "content" was no mistake. I will remove any further misleading content posted by you or any one else.

I hope that clarifies things for you.

Sincerely, WyoRepublican — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.155.96.149 (talk) 17:56, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm afraid you misunderstand. MusikAnimal did not create this page, they've most likely seen it through monitoring recent changes to the encyclopedia. Furthermore, Wikipedia's mission is simply to report what reliable third party sources say and here, a search of google news brings up few positives. Yes, Wikipedia pages should not be written solely to attack people, but neither should they whitewash the facts. Furthermore on this issue you have a clear and admitted conflict of interest and should tread carefully when editing the article. If obviously biased information is added, others without connections to Hill will remove it. Valenciano (talk) 18:35, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Valenciano is correct, I monitor recent changes, and have no connection to the subject of this article whatsoever. I merely noticed you removed sourced content without using an edit summary to explain why, as you were notified on your talk page. I also agree that it sounds like you are exerting some conflict of interest, which is a policy we take seriously on Wikipedia. Furthermore, while monitoring an article of interest is welcomed, please realize no one has ownership. If you feel information is biased, consider adding a POV template to the top of the article, and start a discussion on the talk page. That way you can work with other editors who are more familiar with the subject to reach a consensus. I hope you now understand why I reverted your edit, and let me knew if there's anything I can do to help. — MusikAnimal talk 19:01, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Farid Khan debacle

As you try to straighten this mess out, keep in mind that a prior version of the Farid Khan (journalist) was deleted via a deletion discussion, after the same hanky panky of trying to first hijack the article about the politician. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:18, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Probably the same subject as Farid Khan (Tennis Player and Sports Journalist), which is again marked for CSD. We are all very confused here. Thanks for the help! — MusikAnimal talk 16:21, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi, MusikAnimal. Your help cleaning minor errors, formatting details and reverting spiteful vandals on the two pages upon which I have been working is hugely appreciated. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to Wikipedia's integrity. No reply necessary; just wanted you to know your efforts are valued.

Best,

You bet! Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 15:12, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Reverting edits Let's Adopt! page?

Hi, I was asked to make those edits. They're also not violating any copyright since those words where all mine. Prompted from the tip of my typing fingers. I am new to wikipedia and will probably need to learn how to insert things to some extent, but adding plain text I was asked to add by the people this page is about, is anything but vandalism and/or violation. So, please change it all back.

If you wrote all this content yourself, word for word, this presents another problem, what we consider to be original research. It is important to realize that Wikipedia is to based solely on previously published information, supported by reliable secondary sources. That being said, the blog you are linking would be considered a primary source, and not secondary, which we aim for. Hopefully you now understand why I reverted your changes and let me know if you need anymore help!

So you know, the disruptive user is still edit warring on the article and using personal attacks, despite your warnings. I really don't want to dragged into this any further. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 22:44, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
