@Mz7: Hi, can you please confirm my account permanently. It's already manually confirmed until August 2018 (due to some technical problems) and I know it's redundant to grant it but could you? Thankyou! Bingobro (Chat) 07:26, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Bingobro: I'd like to try something first. Your account should be automatically confirmed because it is more than 4 days old and has made more than 10 edits. Your claim that the software doesn't recognize you as autoconfirmed has left a lot of us rather perplexed – are you sure you haven't made a mistake?
I think I have a way that you could verify to us that you are really having this problem. It involves me first removing the manual confirmation from your account. After it is removed, you should try to edit a semi-protected article. If it doesn't work, then take a screenshot of the message you see, then upload that screenshot to the Wikimedia Commons. Does this sound okay to you? Mz7 (talk) 07:38, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Mz7: Actually its already been done by Xaosflux and MusikAnimal. In the end Xaos manually confirmed me for a year.Bingobro (Chat) 07:40, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

O, also now I'm WP:XCON so it dosen't show up anymore.

@Bingobro: (edit conflict) Well, since it won't expire for quite some time, there doesn't seem to be an urgent need to extend it right now. There's an relevant ticket in Phabricator (the bug tracker we use for MediaWiki, the software that runs Wikipedia) that hasn't been closed yet. If the issue relating to your account isn't resolved by the time the confirmed flag expires, then the flag can be extended then. Did you send Xaosflux or MusikAnimal a screenshot or some other verification of your problem? Mz7 (talk) 07:51, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Mz7: No, no screenshot but yes they did verify it at phabricator and also did some de-bugging.Bingobro (Chat) 07:54, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Bingobro: Hmm, I'm reading through the phabricator ticket, and it looks like they're pretty confused what the issue is, which is why I was wondering whether you might have made a mistake. You can see in the comments to the phabricator ticket that MediaWiki does indeed think you should be autoconfirmed. Mz7 (talk) 07:58, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Mz7: Yes I should actually, it suddenly popped up. Even my preferences and xtools say I'm confiremed, autoconfirmed, extendedconfirmed, reviewer, rollbacker, user.I suddenly didn't have the ability to edit SP articles at that time I didn't know anything about these things so, I just applied at perm/c after a few attempts Xaos asked what the problem is and then It even went on to the village pump and Phabricator.Bingobro (Chat) 08:03, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
