- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Happy editing! Cheers, Julietdeltalima (talk) 15:06, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Julietdeltalima. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Hudson's Bay point blanket. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal Wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, please get a second opinion from the editors at WP:TEAHOUSE. Please ask the editors at the Teahouse for more advice. I do not have time today to explain why this is not appropriate content for Wikipedia. Thanks. Julietdeltalima (talk) 15:08, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, N6BDG2f. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Hudson's bay point blanket, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Julietdeltalima (talk) 15:09, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- I wanted to add a good faith addition to highlight the transition of the blanket to a charitable initiative. If I remove the external link, is the rest of the content OK? I linked to the non-profit website and a news article. I am not being incentivized to write it. N6BDG2f (talk) 22:42, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
