Speedy deletion of MER MEC S.p.A

edit

A tag has been placed on MER MEC S.p.A requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your request for help

edit

Hi, I've deleted the talk page again because there's no corresponding article. However, I did read your question so I'll respond here. (for future reference, I'd recommend putting it on your talk page). Wikipedia has guidelines for what can be included and what can't. You may view the requirements for companies here. If you feel that you can write a neutral, unbiased article about the company under those guidelines, please do, but note that it should be reliable and referenced. If you have any other questions, feel free to add another {{helpme}} or drop a note on my talk page. Best, Keilana|Parlez ici 18:07, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

This may have been a borderline case for WP:CSD, especially since the user (you) tried to use the {{hangon}} template. I will confer with the deleting admin and possibly undelete the article ... however I will send it immediately to WP:AfD for community review. - Revolving Bugbear 18:11, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
The article has been undeleted. However, I have nominated it for community discussion on deletion to get further input. Please see the discussion here. - Revolving Bugbear 19:34, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Help me

I moved your request here. To honestly answer your question, I don't know why some and why some cant. To be honest, your article probably seemed like advertising, had little or no context, or simply didnt look like an encyclopedic article. To make sure that your article will not be speedy deleted], simply look the article over, make sure there are references for your information, and also, make sure that there is enough information without the article to look like advertising for the company you are creating an article on. If you need any more help, let me know here Dustitalk 18:10, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you all for taking the time to determine whether or not the page may stay in Wikipedia. I do have one question that I believe is very pertinent to this discussion. Safetran is listed in the same Rail Industry section as MER MEC, and their page includes text that appears to be of promotional nature, including clients and even contact information. To each their own, in fact more power to them if they are allowed to stay in Wikipedia. My question is how is that page different from MER MEC S.p.A.? I look forward to any responses. Thank you very much --NHM (talk) 14:46, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of MER MEC S.p.A

edit

An editor has nominated MER MEC S.p.A, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MER MEC S.p.A and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:44, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
