You should probably create your article in the Draft space and have it go through the WP:AFC process other then just blanking a redirect page. TheMesquitobuzz 03:06, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi NI BEOP. Please follow TheMesquito's advice above and write the article through the Articles for Creation process. Blanking the redirect breaks a page that was working, so I hope you understand that you'll need to write the article first and get it approved through AfC before deleting the redirect. Thanks, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 03:12, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
yeah sorry about that, i tried to replace the redirect but was having a hard time. reason being, is that their website address is titled "Water Stations" with an -s at the end. so i figured that would be the appropriate page to make. you can see this here: https://waterstations.org/

Deletion discussion about Water Stations

edit

Hello, NI BEOP,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Water Stations should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Water Stations .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

sounds like something done in bad faith as the article is still being worked on and there are numerous non-profits with wiki articles.

Water Stations edits

I appreciate that you're trying to update Water Stations, but please do not change claims and details that correctly reflect the cited reliable sources. It seems like you might be trying to correct details based on what you know, but that's not how Wikipedia works, and changing the text to something that's not supported by the citation (while leaving the citation in place) looks very bad indeed. This can be frustrating, I know, especially if you are connected to the organization in some way and think that the article is inaccurate. But Wikipedia reflects the coverage of subjects published in reliable sources, by design and policy, even if that's not the most current or accurate information. Finally, a hint about an article nominated for deletion: no one cares if most activity starts in March or April, but everyone cares if there are enough different articles/books in reliable sources covering the subject to justify its existence in this encyclopedia. So maybe focus your efforts accordingly. Bakazaka (talk) 06:10, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you are right i do work for the organization. But some of the language is loaded. For example: "provides water to migrants crossing desert areas in California". The water is strategically placed in locations where migrants are know to cross, with the sole purpose to mitigate migrant deaths that occur due to expose from extreme heat.
I understand the concern, but first you absolutely need to declare your conflict of interest, following the instructions at WP:DISCLOSE. If you are being paid directly to edit Wikipedia, you must also follow the instructions at WP:COIDISCLOSEPAY. Bakazaka (talk) 06:28, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Water Station is a 501 (c)(3), none of us who volunteer are paid anything. I'm doing this because numerous similar non-profits have pages. I will definitely fill out the discloser. But i also think that after reading the given CBS link, the summary of the initial editor uses loaded language as the article mentions multiple times that the water is for anyone to use, not just migrants.

Again, I understand, but for perspective, the language won't matter at all if the community decides that the article should be deleted. The recent edits to match what the sources say are fine, but please disclose that COI before continuing to edit the article. Bakazaka (talk) 06:48, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Will do, boss
