There is no conflict of interest. I have simply added two photos that more accurately depict this particular piercing.

Except that they don't. They are far worse in quality (blown out, bad lighting, use of flash visible on reflections on balls, awkward angles, the only thing they have going for them is that it shows the jewelry from below, as opposed to the side) and they repeat an example already present (the article is not intended to be a gallery of pierced penises; it should have one high quality example of each of the main types of jewelry, not three of one, two of which are nearly identical).
You were issued the COI notice due to the fact that your username involves the piercing, coupled with the fact that you introduced your own images related to piercing in the article about the piercing (and now re-adding them with nearly zero discussion other than you feel they are more accurate). You are clearly intimately involved in this topic and that puts you at a conflict of interest when dealing with it. My advice would be to take better quality photos to replace the one already there (it's not often we get someone with the piercing who is also willing to photograph it). I disagree with your assessment.

This statement is not helpful to get discussion going, which is a core concept on Wikipedia. If this is about the quality of the photos, just take better photos. If this is about the COI notice, just edit like you have no vested interest in the topic, don't take things personally, and don't automatically reintroduce your edits that were previously deleted. That's really all there is to it. ICYTIGER'SBLOOD 16:57, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.

  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
