The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Category:New York Red Bulls II players

edit

Hey mate, first off, I have seen your work when it comes to pages pertaining to the New York Red Bulls and the New York Red Bulls II and I really do appreciate the work and love it. However, I noticed that you removed the Category:New York Red Bulls II players from one of the players who were not on the team anymore. That should not happen. The category is for current and past players, not just the current. Just thought I tell you for future purposes. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 16:33, 27 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:JuniorFlemmings-2016.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:JuniorFlemmings-2016.jpg, which you've attributed to Alena Schuckmann. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Majora (talk) 03:34, 4 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon

edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hey,

I was amended the coloring so there's a border for some clubs, meaning clubs with 3 primary colors it looks marginally better.

As for changing to the European layout - don't do that! There was a huge Wikipedia debate/discussion and it was settled on the current format for various reasons. It is better - it looks better, works on mobile, is sortable, etc.

2018 New York Red Bulls season

edit

Hey, bringing this here since we are in danger of getting caught out on WP:3RR. The "standard" for season articles is that pre-season is what it is, pre-season. There is no reason to include a separate scorers table for matches that pretty much mean nothing in grand scheme of things. We can definitely add WP:Prose about pre-season but that is as much. We should be keeping up to the standard set from articles in GA. I love your work on here and I see you all the time for Red Bulls articles, it is amazing. I work for the team and I love it but we still need to keep to the standard set here. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 13:51, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

This page was moved to draft week last week after the deletion discussion. Until he gets his first start, we should update it in it's draft state. Then move to main space when he gets his first start in a regular season game. WikiVirusC(talk) 23:00, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

You probably already know this because you've been editing for a while, but please avoid cut-and-paste moves. They re undesirable because they split the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history. You should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Jack N. 2019 New York Red Bulls season moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, 2019 New York Red Bulls season, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Second team appearances are never counted as loans. And why does Soccerway say he has 12 MLS matches? Is it a mistake?8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 20:34, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

@8Dodo8: Hey, I used the term loan since MLS clubs refer to games with the second team as a loan. They typically send out press releases stating that a certain player has been "loaned." I think Soccerway combines both league play (MLS) and playoffs (league cup) into one category (I think they do the same for LIGA MX players). On the MLS website he has 10 league matches and 2 league cup matches. NYMetro96 (talk) 23:29, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hello again, thanks for your response. MLS clubs may refer to them as loans, but I think is incorrect. At least here in Europe these are surely not loans. Regarding the appearances, yes only league appearances count. So Soccerway is wrong, I guess. I don't watch the MSL, I couldn't do it anyway since Eurosport did not renew the license for the league, so I think you know best. Proposed deletion of Cherif Dieye

edit

The article Cherif Dieye has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Footballer who fails GNG and NFOOTY

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

  • PS - I thought you were through this discussion several times. You can't assume player's notability if he just signed a contract. Tons of players sign a contract with pro team but never play for them in the end. You have to wait for his debut. --BlameRuiner (talk) 17:06, 8 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Kyereh

edit

Hi there. Thanks for your expansion of Daniel-Kofi Kyereh's article. The career stats table's data didn't seem to be supported by Soccerway or Worldfootball.net so I corrected that: see the revisions before and after my changes. I also added a reference for the Hessian Cup win. Please make sure you include references for stats tables and honours. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 10:47, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wikelman Carmona moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Wikelman Carmona, is not suitable as written to remain published. Ways to improve Giannis Nikopolidis

edit

Hello, NYMetro96,

Thank you for creating Giannis Nikopolidis.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references to satisfy notability for sport. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Speedy deletion nomination of 2023 New York Red Bulls sesaon

edit

Hello NYMetro96,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2023 New York Red Bulls sesaon for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want 2023 New York Red Bulls sesaon to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
