Speedy deletion of Tamil Nadu state assembly election, 1980

edit

A tag has been placed on Tamil Nadu state assembly election, 1980 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.   Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Tamil Nadu state assembly election, 1980, without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered vandalism. Further edits of this type may result in your being blocked from editing. Self-removal of CSD JCutter (talk) 03:31, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Tables in Wikipedia

edit

Hi Nader, I noticed you've been creating a lot of State Assembly constituency articles lately. They look good, but I'd like to suggest a change to your table formatting. When we add tables to Wikipedia articles, we avoid the use of HTML formatting in favor of wiki markup. You may want to check out Help:Table to learn about wiki table markup. Thanks! --JaGatalk 19:19, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Karunanidhi.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Karunanidhi.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:42, 11 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 07:42, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

We are still missing original source information for this image. Wikipedia cannot be its own source, and this image on the Tamil Wikipedia is also tagged as missing source information. —Bkell (talk) 11:24, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image permission problem with Image:2001tnelection.gif

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:2001tnelection.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 07:46, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Theagaraya Nagar (State Assembly Constituency)

edit

A tag has been placed on Theagaraya Nagar (State Assembly Constituency) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

Indian election templates

edit

Thanks for your help with these templates. One suggestion: when you or I are doing major edits to the template (for instance listing major party/alliances for each state, as you seem to be doing right now), it may help to use the {{inuse}} template to avoid edit-conflicts. Also please take a look at the ground rules section on the template section and chime in, since we two seem to be the only ones working on the templates currently. Cheers. Your RFA

edit

Dear Harish89,

I am sorry to say that your RfA has been closed early as unsuccessful per WP:NOTNOW. Please do not be discouraged by this, continue to strive for your goal. I am sure that with a little more work, an RfA would easily succeed for you.

Sincerely, Arma virumque cano (talk) 15:13, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is an ongoing discussion concerning the validity of the non-admin closure of your RFA per WP:NOTNOW at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Fairly_new_account_closing_RFAs_and_AFDs.Smallman12q (talk) 15:47, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have reopened your RFA at Wikipedia:Rfa#Harish89 per a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Fairly_new_account_closing_RFAs_and_AFDs. If you would like to withdraw your rfa, please say so, but otherwise, good luck!Smallman12q (talk) 16:43, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your recent RfA

edit

I am sorry, but I have closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you only have 2000 edits on Wikipedia; while your edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards by which they judge RfA candidates, this particular RfA was all but assured of not passing.

I am sorry about this, and I hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I am confident that you would be able to submit a successful RfA in the future. You may wish to consider applying for an evaluation by other Wikipedia editors for feedback on how to obtain the necessary experience. Once you are ready to request adminship again, there is a great admin coaching program available, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! –Juliancolton | Talk 19:19, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Indian general election in Arunachal Pradesh, 2009

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Indian general election in Arunachal Pradesh, 2009, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No actual content

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
