Explicit

I am 62 years old. When I was 16, one of my favorite bands, the MC5, recorded a song called (Changed by Nahnah4). We don't censor that on Wikipedia. Why are you so reluctant to tell me what's really going on here? Cullen³²⁸ Let's discuss it 08:39, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

@Cullen328: Boy, what a mixup...let me try to clear this. Albums (at least in the US) usually come in both explicit and clean (non-explicit) forms. Explicit albums contain all the songs in their full-vulgar glory, while the clean albums contain the songs with censored out vulgarities. And in some cases (like this), an album's explicit version might have a different cover than the clean one. This is simply a case of Nahnah uploading the explicit version's cover to the article, and another editor reverting it since we apparently (?) only use the clean version. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 08:43, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Fylbecatulous, the frustration came when NN4 visited the Teahouse with a vague concern about someone reverting his upload of a specific explicit album cover, and wouldn't clearly describe the issue despite several requests for clarification. I apologize to both of you, and suggest that if the user is so uncomfortable about such matters, they should avoid editing in such areas. Category:Book-turned-films

Hey, I noticed that you recently created the category Category:Book-turned-films, way to be proactive! However, that category was redundant: we already have a very full and extensive category at Category:Books adapted into filmsWhen creating categories, its always best practice to make sure that their are not other types of categories that capture the same information. Doing a quick survey of related articles, or the larger category hierarchy can usually turn up a category that will capture the intended concept either in whole or in part. I hope that you continue categorizing, but make sure that you work with many thousands of hours of work other volunteers have put in before you.

Also, as a second note, the massive stop sign on the talk page message is very unwelcoming, and will likely discourage some people from communicating with you. Talk pages are important tools and collaboration is easier to solicit when inviting or welcoming someone to contribute a conversation, instead of telling them, very boldly, to "stop" something.

Hi, while I don't care that much about the image, I don't understand why you nominated File:Flashing message to stop using wikipedia.gif for deletion as an orphaned NFCC image, as I clearly tagged it as free includng with explanation of the fonts used (although the raster rendering of fonts are generally not considered a problem due to being simple geometric shapes and us only needing to comply with US law on wikipedia, unlike commons). If for some reason you're disputing the free licences, you need to use the appropriate tags, with explaination. Nil Einne (talk) 09:57, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

I don't understand what an AN orphaned file is or what you mean by 'the non-AA' but in any event the tag you used is intended solely for non free content which this is not, as I mentioned above. Nil Einne (talk) 10:04, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Yes, sorry, I belated realised you meant an orphaned file and the capitalisation was I guess just for emphasis or by accident and the non AA referred to another file. However the fact remains the tag you used is not intended for generally orphaned files, only those which are non free which this is not. You could perhaps argue it serves no encyclopaedic purpose or something similar in FFD and it's possible I won't contest that, but please use an appropriate tag and process.
