Hello, Najemhasan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question.   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Bobby Cummines. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. Thank you. -- LuK3 (Talk) 20:29, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I am a colleague of Bobby Cummines, please see http://www.midasltd.com/meet-the-team/, other people keep vandalising this page and I am just restoring the original content. The information on the page is all in his autobiography. Thanks. NajemNajemhasan (talk) 20:33, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
If you are a colleague of Cummines, then you clearly have a conflict of interest with him. While that doesn't prohibit you from editing his article, it means you need to edit very cautiously and make sure to cite reliable sources for your edits. You might also be better off to propose edits at Talk:Bobby Cummines and let other editors, who are independent of Cummines, make the changes for you. —C.Fred (talk) 21:00, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Everything on the Wikipedia site is in his book "I am not a gangster" which can be seen here http://www.amazon.co.uk/I-Am-Not-A-Gangster/dp/0091957834 - I can also send you an electronic copy. Nothing on the page gives any opinion, just facts on his history. I really dont understand what the issue is. I thought this site was supposed to be informative and helpful. I am finding this more of a hinderance than a help. At the moment I am more inclined to just "let this go" as it is really not worth the effort. Bobby is a good man, someone who has turned his criminal past around and earned the highest respect and honour one can achieve in this country - that being the OBE awarded to him by Queen Elizabeth II. I will list a few articles below:

Hello, I'm CombatWombat42. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Bobby Cummines seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. CombatWombat42 (talk) 20:43, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request for clarification of two edits

edit

I will be grateful if you can provide more information about what you were referring to in this edit, which I see is a repeat of an edit you previously made nearly six months earlier. First of all, can you state what "malicious activity" you are referring to? If there has been unacceptable editing, then it may be necessary to take administrative action over it, so it is important that we know what the malicious activity is. This is particularly true if the same malicious activity has been continuing over a period of six months or more. Secondly, can you clarify do you mean by "IP logging", explain by whom it has been "enabled", and say to whom you propose to make a report? Some other editors are concerned about what you have written, apparently fearing that the statement may have been intended as an attempt to intimidate editors, so as to deter them from making edits which you don't like. Naturally, I trust that you did not mean it that way, but since concerns have been raised, and since it is not at all clear what you did mean, it will be very helpful if you can clarify the matter. If anyone were to make threats, in order to deter other editors from editing in ways that person didn't like, as though that person wished to take control of editing of the article, then that person would be likely to be blocked from editing, as they would be violating several of Wikipedia's policies. It is essential to realise that Wikipedia is a collaborative project, and no individual editor or group of editors has the right to claim ownership of any article and attempt to dictate what edits may be made there. Also, comments and discussions about editing an article belong not in the article itself, but in the article's talk page, in this case Talk:Bobby Cummines. The article Bobby Cummines should be about Bobby Cummines, not about Wikipedia's article about Bobby Cummines and the process of editing it.

We are completely inexperienced with Wikipedia and how it works. The page was created some time ago and was online for some time where people were able to see Bobby's life history, and his contributions to society that lead to his recognition by HM Queen Elizebeth II who awarded him an OBE. Shortly before his book was released, the page was completely deleted and it was thought someone had done this maliciously. In hindsight this may have been editors. The posting at the head of the page was done simply to deter further deletion of the page that was assumed to have been done maliciously. You must understand that many people in law enforcement and the criminal world are still unhappy about Bobby's book and the truth contained within it. I do sincerely apologise if the message was inappropriate. It was not intentional. I am beginning to understand the system a little better and hope to work with someone here to build a more neutral page about Bobby. Thanks.82.36.174.91 (talk) 00:07, 9 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
