editHi! Your contributions to Scott Lagasse Jr. were deleted alongside another 100 edits because portions of the article were tainted with copyright violations. Wikipedia does not accept copied material from other websites. Furthermore, I removed some of the achievements you added because they were not notable to be included in the infobox. Two ARCA wins is hardly notable for the section, and pole positions are not included unless it was a record. I retained the championships and the Rookie of the Year award (which I moved to the awards section). Other contributions you made to the article that were not copyvio appeared to be spammy and did not have a neutral point of view.
Some issues that I noticed is the way you linked certain words and phrases to external websites for reference. Instead of linking them with [ ], you should instead use <ref></ref>, and follow Wikipedia's preferred method of citing sources. Regarding the pictures you uploaded, do you know where you came across them? First of all, thank you so much for the help! I really do appreciate it. I'm guessing, as you can tell, I am new to this, but I happen to know Scotty and his family pretty well, and thought I would try to update it for them, hence the bias tone or non neutral point of view. I will take redo and work on it some more. Also, I now understand the ARCA wins and poles.
And my friend Ralph took those pictures and gave me permission to use them.
Again, I really appreciate the help, and hopefully I can make this page 100% complete, and I know I can with your help!

- You probably should read Wikipedia's policies of a conflict of interest, which means you are contributing to Wikipedia about a friend or family member, etc. Conflicts of interest editing is discouraged. – Nascar1996 (talk • cont) 20:09, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- Unfortunately Wikipedia cannot accept information based on a personal friend's say-so; our content, particularly about living persons, must be independently verifiable from reliable published sources such as newspapers or reputable magazines. I'm sure you'll agree it would set a very bad precedent if we accepted information on the basis of "Trust me, it's true!"
- Regarding the images, what exactly did the permission you got entail? Wikipedia considers an image non-free (and thus, with some exceptions that do not apply here, unsuitable) unless the copyright holder has released it under a free license that allows everybody to re-use and modify the image for any purpose, including commercial purposes. According to the tags you provided at the Wikimedia Commons, those images are released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license, which indeed is a free license. However, we'll need confirmation that Ralph Smith is indeed ok with that license. Please take a look at WP:Requesting copyright permission for the necessary steps. Huon (talk) 21:17, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
