Proposed deletion of Visual Detection of Imaginary Roots in a Parabola
editThe article Visual Detection of Imaginary Roots in a Parabola has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Appears to be original research, in breach of WP:NOR.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Gandalf61 (talk) 20:22, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
- Nassim, where are you buddy, my guess is that you don't log into Wikipedia every day, and are not yet aware of your article being discussed. The topic has potential, and you have made some fairly good draft diagrams, but if you are interested in polishing the article we could really use your help. Right now my tactic will be to use a delaying tactic and almost run out the clock on this proposal to delete this article and then remove the tag on the last day. If you can read this and don't agree that the article you worked on should be deleted, go right in and delete that tag, and also think about improving the article along the lines that are being discussed on the articles discussion page.130.86.76.115 (talk) 18:27, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback and encouragement. You can call me Chloe (I am a girl). I am no longer able to see my article, do you know why?. This is my first article; after publishing it, there was no discussion and I was in my summer vacation. This is the first day I am checking it all. Tomorrow my school starts (11 grader) I will address the points discussed and make sure the my article stays. Nassim Chloe Eghtebas (talk) 06:53, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Your article has been moved to Graphical methods of finding polynomial roots (in Wikipedia, the only way to rename an article is to move it from one page to another) and has been completely re-written by various editors to meet Wikipedia's standards and policies. This is not something to be worried about - it is part of the normal collaborative process that takes place on all Wikipedia articles. You can see the sequence of what happened and when by looking back over the article's history (history entries are moved when an article is moved, so the whole history is kept in one place). Let me know if you have any questions. Gandalf61 (talk) 12:31, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
Chloe: Thank you for the reply. I feel kind of pushed around and violated. The main objections were "it is not working" and "it is original idea with no references". I have means of satisfying both of these valid objections. All I need is to get back to my original post. Also, Visual detection... is not the same as Graphical solution... as I will explain it later. Please let me know how I can get to my original post? Is it deleted just like that? Do I need to redo it? If so how do I approach it in order to keep my original title (Visual Detection...)? Very grateful for you attention to this matter.Nassim Chloe Eghtebas (talk) 14:27, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Your original title still exists as a redirect and your contributions and versions of the article may all be seen in the edit history. Your dismay at your treatment is natural but, unfortunately, you must understand that a topic such as this may receive attention from numerous editors and it is not possible for you to retain exclusive control here - see WP:OWN. If you wish to retain creative control of your writing, please look at other means of publication such as Google Knol. Best wishes, Colonel Warden (talk) 23:51, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I have nominated Visual Detection of Imaginary Roots in a Parabola, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Visual Detection of Imaginary Roots in a Parabola. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Gandalf61 (talk) 09:20, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Nassim Chloe Eghtebas: I am the author of this article. I am a 16-year old and going to 11th grade. This is my first attempt to publish something in Wikipedia. I have been away for the summer and didn't see the comments. I read the comments; it felt like the Titans in a battlefield exchanging blows with one another discussing my article with strong passion. They were mostly civilized nevertheless.
I will be reasonable and reason well in my effort to keep my article. There are many good points made that need to be applied and many questions asked that deserve my answer. Tomorrow my school starts. Now, all I need some time to go over the comments again and digest them before I am able to take the necessary steps to get your YES vote.
The remaining question is, am I going to get the chance to accomplish all this or it has to be deleted right away. (talk) 03:09, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Graph1.JPG
editA tag has been placed on File:Graph1.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, you blanked the entire Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects page. Was that your intention? Corvus cornixtalk 22:01, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Questions About Gc
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Questions About Gc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. File:Nassim2Rev3.JPG missing description details
editis missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.
If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
