Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Nehemiahnarzary23. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Cahk (talk) 09:18, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of JD Williams English School

edit

The article JD Williams English School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources at all, not adhering to WP:MOS, no content other than an infobox.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JD Williams English School moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, JD Williams English School, does not have any sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Please see the school article guidelines which describes how the content of school articles should be organized, with the aim of providing general guidance to editors. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Bodo people

edit

Add entries in that article only when supported by reliable sources that explicitly mention their ethnicity. As per our policy at WP:INB, only surname, native place or sympathy towards certain ethnic group is not enough to ascertain that the person belongs to that specific community. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:48, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by inserting unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Boro people. Stop adding names where the sources do not explicitly mention their ethnicity. And you edit summary "A person leading some community/ethnic organisation means he belongs to that ethnicity." doesn't apply in Wikipedia and real life. There are many cases of people working/leading communities that they do not belong to. Also assuming somebody's ethnicity based on his organization = WP:OR. Have you ever wondered why notable people sections are small in major ethnic communities of India? Because only those names are kept that have sources clearly mentioning their ethnicity. However, you can always add names of these people in the region/state/city if properly sourced. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:18, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for adding links to Wikipedia. In this edit, the link you added would have brought a reader right back to the same spot on the same page. No worries – someone else already removed it.
