Proposed deletion of Shades of Perth Volume 3

edit

The article Shades of Perth Volume 3 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability, not listed anywhere but on that discogs page it seems?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Shades of Perth Volume 1

edit

Hello Neophytte,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Shades of Perth Volume 1 for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the album, song or discography is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article of their own.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Richard Mortimer (musician). Thanks! Theroadislong (talk) 07:11, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for responding; they have played on (Australian) national TV (criteria 10), as well as having a single on an MTV released video cassette (although due to the dates, it was hard to find a reference to this media). I'm just a bit confused as I see articles such as this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martine_Locke which contain no references, yet is published? Neophytte (talk) 07:57, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
See other poor quality articles exist for that argument. Martine Locke should probably be deleted. Theroadislong (talk) 08:10, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for clearing my confusion (that article was an example, I have seen others which likely fall into the same category).
Would criteria 10 be adequate, the dates are from around 30 years ago when storing items on the internet was not practiced within Australia. I've noticed the national archive (TROVE - https://trove.nla.gov.au/) is moving toward that goal, but moving slowly ... Neophytte (talk) 08:41, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for your review, under https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music)#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles point 10 reads: "performance in a television show", the subject has played on (Australian) national TV, as well as having a single on an MTV released video cassette. Do these meet the criteria of notability for a music subject? Neophytte (talk) 01:13, 16 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
