A tag has been placed on Rome Burns (band), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 16:50, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rome Burns

edit

Yesterday i started an embryonic page for a UK band "Rome Burns". This article was intended as a stub, and would be added to over time (i do have to work for a living too). The purpoose of the article was to record the history of the band after their 10 year anniversary last year, and also to be able to link to similar bands in the UK gothic music scene who are also recorded in Wikipedia. However, despite my mentioning the article would be expanded when i had more time, you deleted it. Can this be undone, or do i have to sit and write the entire article before it's accepted. Or - if it's easier, how do i mark the page as an official stub? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nevla (talkcontribs) 09:19, 7 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

  • Please see WP:MUSIC. Step 1 is to find multiple non-trivial sources which have the band as primary focus. Without those, you don't get an "official" stub (actually there is no such thing, a stub is simpoly an article ona valid topic which has not yet been expanded). See also our conflict of interest guidelines. Guy (Help!) 09:25, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
