Your username

edit

  Hello, Newshunter74. Concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it at the page for requests for comment on usernames. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name at Wikipedia:Changing username following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. jd22292 (Jalen D. Your username

edit

Hello again. I'd like to discuss your username again, as me and a couple of admins were concerned that your username might violate the username policy as a username that possibly represents a group or an organization. I have several options for you that might remedy the situation before action is taken:

  • Go to Special:GlobalRenameRequest and make a request to change your username. Just make sure the alternate username you want doesn't already exist first.
  • Abandon this account and start fresh with a new account, abiding by the username policy, of course. Keep this plan as a backup in case the first option doesn't work out.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the username change. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 21:16, 20 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Newshunter74. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Viveca Novak ‎, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Fylbecatulous talk 15:23, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
