Speedy deletion nomination of The Klaxon.com

edit

A tag has been placed on The Klaxon.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of The Klaxon.com

A tag has been placed on The Klaxon.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Hi, I think you were attempting to contest the original deletion of the page The Klaxon.com? Rather than recreate the page like you did with the {{hangon}} template, you should (politely) ask the administrator who deleted the page (at User talk:Nihonjoe) why the page was deleted. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can contest the deletion by following the deletion review process; the instructions are on the WP:DRV page. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions. Grondemar 05:01, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Klaxon.com

The following discussion is moved here from Talk:The Klaxon.com, because the article The Klaxon.com has been deleted, and its talk page will therefore also be deleted..

I'm inquiring about the deletion of The Klaxon.com from Wikipedia. This organization has gained ground and is fairly well-known for resources in the emergency management and disaster field. Professionals and nonprofessionals flock to the company for solid commentary and analysis on emergencies and disasters around the world. The staff is full of professionals in the field that have experience and contribute regularly to the company's growth. The Klaxon is a significant mile stone in the field of emergency management and information, and certainly worth inclusion to Wikipedia. Please consider. I appreciate your time. It's official site is www.theklaxon.com. Thank you.

  • I can find no significant discussion or even mention of The Klaxon in reliable sources; I am sure the administrator who deleted it before, and the editor who nominated it again, have had the same experience. Adding references that establish notability is the only way to avoid deletion. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 05:20, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Have added additional sources. Newsuser700 (talk) 05:37, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Do you have any independent reliable sources to show notability? There are none in the article, just their own webpage and links to facebook and linkedin, neither one acceptable. -- Alexf(talk) 11:37, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
