Feedback request

Hi Nicholas. I saw your request for assistance. Adam's off today - is there something I can help you with? Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:58, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Nicholas. Replying here to your request. I've made some changes to your draft. I think right now my major problem is most of the article describes one mask held in Chicago in way too much detail. I realize that's largely for wont of other potential sources, but we should be careful about building many paragraphs on what is essentially a collection listing. I've added an additional source to the article, which I think will be helpful in better summarizing what the discipline has to say about these masks.

The sentence which starts "Through email correspondence with a research associate employed by the Art Institute of Chicago..." can't be sourced that way. Because wikipedia articles don't have an actual author--there is no byline and no individual person is 'responsible' for the content--there is no way a reader could trust personal correspondence between an editor and a source. What you've added is a nice piece of detail but probably won't be able to make it into the encyclopedia.

Is this meant to be a new article or an addition to the Senufo people article? If so, I think that article could be improved by 1-2 paragraphs on the masks. If your plan is to make this into a new article, I'd recommend seeing if you can find more sources on the subject before you do that. Adam (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:29, 11 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm Deeply Regretful

I was flipping through links & came to your User Page . I know it may have gotten your hopes up to be marked "patrolled," but I do not have the authority to do so, and will have to rescind your qualification just awarded. IamtheStudent (talk) 14:48, 18 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
