Hi and welcome to WP. I fixed the tags on your 2 image pages in commons so they won't be deleted. To get the images in the right places there are a few methods. [[file:image.jpg|thumb|left|300px|Caption here.]] will make a thumbnail on the left, 300px wide with a capition.--Canoe1967 (talk) 21:38, 19 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nicola,
I can review your article, but I am sorry, it will take me some days, as I have been terribly busy lately.
I assume that the article was created using an automated translation tool, e.g. Google Translate. Let me be frank: I would prefer to avoid machine translation. When you do not know the target language, you never know how many bugs the machine translated text will contain (quite a lot, as a rule). As an option, you can create a draft article containing an automated translation in your sandbox (see the top menu) and then ask a native speaker to review it. Only after such a review an article may be created. When an article contains too many errors, it is easier to delete it than to clean it up - which, in turn, impairs reputation of the user who created the article deleted. --Dmitri Lytov (talk) 04:36, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Father Achiel Delaere.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Father Achiel Delaere.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. re: Article layout

edit

Hi Nicola, thank you for contacting me to fix the translaiton issues regarding the Chinese wiki page; I am working on it. My question, however, is whether this is describing a building, or describing a Christian Denomination?

On a sidenote, I would like to point out that even the English version does not exactly have the wiki feel, and improvement could be done upon the English article too. For example, instead of using "Events", "History" would be more consistent; cutting out "If any one incident triggered the following drama" would also ensure the wiki page have an encyclopedia feel. Please refer to other wiki pages that describe Denomination or church for details. George Leung (talk) 04:11, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Joy Kogawa.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Joy Kogawa.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 23:22, 31 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Stefania Turkewich

edit
Hello Nicola, thank you for your message. I really appreciate it. However, just now I am not able to write a Czech article about Stefania Turkewich, more or less out of time reasons. I will look at the English page about her, of course. Nevertheless, she may be a person of interest for me, and it is not excluded that I write this article later. I am really very interested in everything what is connected to the vast topic of classical music (especially operatic one) and its composers and interpreters. I would like to write a lot of articles, in fact ... May be you don´t know that on Czech Wikipedia we have a very special recommendation (not rule!) saying that surnames of female persons, even of non-Czech origin, have to be changed by adding a suffix (-ová). I don´t agree with this practice for women of non-Czech origin. Unfortunately, it is a wholly cow for a lot of people there, even administrators. So even Stefania Turkewich should be, according to them, renamed to Turkevičová (as Turkewich would also not be accepted). As I am opposed to such a practice, I only seldom write articles even about famous female singers for the Czech Wikipedia. One example would be Giuditta Pasta, a very famous Italian soprano of the 19th century. So there is up to now no article about her. Just a small remark : Don´t be surprised please, if I do some small changes in your English article on Stefania Turkewich. No substantial changes, however. Anyway, thank you again, and have a nice weekend. --Zbrnajsem (talk) 18:30, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
