Thanks and sorry for the deletion of the tag. The tag itself said something that I can remove it if it I improve the article, which I did by using refs. What is the reason for deletion ? Is it the style of the article or the content of it ? NikauTokelau (talk) 13:56, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Something being well referenced does not make it notable. Something being covered in some media does not make it notable. GiantSnowman 18:26, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

The guidelines say "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." Which part of that is not satisfied in your opinion? It has received significant coverage (Swedish/Norwegian national TV, Swedish national radio, Iraqi newspaper, Canadian newspaper, German magazines, UK magazines). Sources like national TV/radion, 11Freunde from Germany and the biggest Canadian French newspaper are surely reliable and independent of the subject. So which is the argument for not-notability ? The UNPO Cup 2005 is a football competition organized by the NF-Board and the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization for nations not recognized by FIFA or by the United Nations, held in the Netherlands in the city of the Hague on 23 June 2005 and which saw the team of the Republic of the South Moluccas win the tournament.

The UNPO Cup experienced only edition.

Story

At the seventh General Assembly of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization, which brings together 61 members from 24 to 26 June 2005, the federation organizes a football tournament. The South Moluccas won the cup, beating Chechnya in the final.
