Notability of Jagrit yuva kalyan sangh
editYou may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
The article Jagrit yuva kalyan sangh has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies and organizations. See also Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 14:44, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Notability
editIn reply to your note on my talk page: Wikipedia is not a "noticeboard" site like Myspace where people come to write about themselves and their own organizations. It is a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles.
The criterion used is called Wikipedia:Notability, and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing references to "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people independent of the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about?
Many organizations, particularly small or new or local ones, cannot show notability; that is not at all to their discredit, but it means they are not suitable subjects for an article in a global encyclopedia. Being a good cause, as yours is, does not give exemption - see WP:Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. JohnCD (talk) 16:53, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
