License tagging for File:Iloilo-Paraw-Regatta-Festival-2010-by-CeaJanPhotography.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Iloilo-Paraw-Regatta-Festival-2010-by-CeaJanPhotography.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you recently removed some content without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Caller Real Iloilo City.jpeg
editA tag has been placed on File:Caller Real Iloilo City.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Why do you remove the bulol from Philippines?
editHere. You should leave edit summaries. Palosirkka (talk) 18:21, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
Why did you do it? Palosirkka (talk) 10:04, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
- This editor's behaviour is problematic: both the way s/he keeps deleting images and undoing the work of other editors without explanation and the fact that s/he seems unwilling to be educated or dialogue or otherwise interact with other editors.
- Consequently I have highlighted this consistent un-collegiate and uncommunicative behaviour at Talk:Philippines#Image of bulol, Palosirkka. BushelCandle (talk) 23:54, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi BushelCandle and thank you. Sometimes it's so hard to try to understand other people's actions... They might be right or they might be wrong but it's hard to tell if there is no communication and it is also fairly annoying. Take care friend! Palosirkka (talk) 11:58, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
Lumpia
editPlease respect the alphabetic order in lumpia article; Indonesia first then the Philippines. Gunkarta talk 05:12, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Flouting advice about images
editI realise that this is probably a one way conversation with somebody that is unlikely to ever bother replying (judging by the edit history of this page) and that I am, therefore, wasting my time, but let it not be said that I did not try:
I have tried to reduce extreme WP:SANDWICHING by diminishing left-right staggering and moving images to more closely align with apposite paragraphs but you seem intent on negating all my work.
Why?
Assuming you are too lazy to read the advice at MOS:IMG in its entirety, here are some selected highlights:
Horizontal placement
edit- In most cases, images should be right justified on pages, which is the default placement.
- Multiple images in the same article can be staggered right-and-left. However, avoid sandwiching text between two images that face each other, or between an image and infobox, navigation template, or similar.
- In a few web browsers, bulleted lists overlap with left-aligned images. It may be preferable to avoid placing a left-aligned image near lists.
- It is often preferable to place images of people so that they "look" toward the text. (Do not achieve this by reversing the image, which creates a false presentation e.g. by reversing the location of scars or other features.)
Vertical placement
editAn image should generally be placed in the most relevant article section; if this is not possible, try not to place an image "too early" i.e. far ahead of the point in the text discussing what the image illustrates, if this will puzzle the reader. Avoid referring to images as being to the left/right, or above/below, because image placement varies with platform, and is meaningless to people using screen readers; instead, use captions to identify images.
It is not possible to place a thumb
image within a paragraph, as the occurrence of such an image causes a paragraph break; i.e. the current paragraph ends and and a new one is begun. BushelCandle (talk) 01:39, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
Continued refusal to communicate about your destructive editing
editYou may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia.
Above, in a previous section, I pointed out that your behaviour is problematic: both the way you keep deleting images and undoing the work of other editors without explanation and the fact that you seem unwilling to be educated or interact with other editors on talk pages.
A while ago I pointed out to you that I had highlighted this consistent un-collegiate and uncommunicative behaviour at Talk:Philippines#Image of bulol, but you still have not bothered to comment there.. Instead you have reverted the work of other editors for the ninth time in a series of policy busting edits.
If you keep up this policy defiant destructive editing I shall have to call for you to be subject to Probation. BushelCandle (talk) 06:35, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
July 2017
edit You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Philippines. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. RivertorchFIREWATER 15:11, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
Edit summaries
editHello Nonoyborbun. I hope you're having a nice July. There is a problem I'd like to address, if I may.
I noticed that you've been making edits without using edit summaries. Please seriously consider beginning to use them. The problem with your fellow Wikipedians is that we're not mind readers, so we don't know what the purpose of a given edit is unless you tell us. Checking every edit, and trying to reason it out, is time-consuming and frustrating, and it is completely unnecessary. So, while using edit summaries isn't required by policy, it is extraordinarily helpful in practical terms and it provides evidence that one is editing in good faith with the needs of other editors in mind. You will need to communicate with your fellow editors. Ignoring them all is not an option.
