"Fake News" vs "Falsely"

Read the sentence - we cannot say in wikipedias voice that the accusations are false. We can say that "X in NYT says that they are not true", but anything else is not only inaccurate (there is no comment regarding the "links" in any of the sources) but is editorializing. You could say that the content of the articles was "false digital information", or even describe them as "false articles", or even use the entire of "Several of the restaurant’s employees have been barraged with ugly social media comments over the false child abuse allegations" which are all quotations (although the first one would be synthesis). As an established editor, who you have dealt with in the past, you should know by now that I am not going to do something against BLP, which is against BLP. I see no discussions about Pizzagate at ANI, nor about it at BLP. By all means, go get an Admin or something. If I am wrong, then the worst I have done is remove the word "falsely" from a sentence that has no basis in the articles and makes no factual difference to the actual state of the article or its BLP position (merely putting "falsely" at the front puts the onus upon ourselves to provide evidence per NPOV). Koncorde (talk) 13:22, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Agreed with Koncorde. There's no conclusive evidence to support the claim that it's false. By stating so, you are intentionally misleading people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.237.240.164 (talk) 18:46, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Inappropriate behavior

Hello NorthBySouthBaranof.

I am an administrator of the Wikipedia Lusofona and I am here to ask you for a help with the user Andre.levy.al (talk · contribs). I am creating a summary of the user's behavior so that, if necessary, I require infinite blocking in lusophony.

I realized by another user, that Andre has a similar behavior with the Lusophone Wikipedia. This one has been making questionable edits and then it shoots offensive words, summarizing a coarse behavior and without any respect to the other users. Requiring the blocking of users just by being reversed by these and calling them vandals and trolls.

In a small review on the user's talk page I see the similarity in behavior. Funny that this had only 3 issues in Lusophone up to 15 days ago. In a short time it has been giving problems. So if possible it would be very helpful to summarize you by reporting user behavior so that I can add in the evidence in the blocking request. Thanks for listening. Le Comte Edmond Dantès msg 05:09, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Conde Dantes, you'll be able to find all you need at User talk:Andre.levy.al where the user has been blocked, block appeals declined, and talk page access revoked. If you need the block log, it's here. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:15, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Like I told the Ian.thomson, lusophone Wikipedia has more tolerance with users. Lock records bring succinct information. So I asked the users involved in André's PDU. Thank you for the feedback and interest to help, because the user is causing turmoil with administrators in Lusophone. Le Comte Edmond Dantès msg 09:54, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hello NorthBySouthBaranof. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:57, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter (November 2016)

Hello NorthBySouthBaranof/Archives/2016,

Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 808 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.

Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

Bears ears

I was about to leave a message here when I saw your revert. Makes sense. The list of national monuments linked to to the geographic feature which has the national monument info box on it. I'll change that WikiLink now (already did it for Gold Butte, but had the same issue there). TonyBallioni (talk) 19:18, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

No problem, I should have written more so that it was less of a stub but I just wanted to get it down there. I think for smaller national monuments it might make sense to merge the unit article into the landform article (for example, Devils Tower), but Bears Ears is 1.3 million acres and encompasses much, much more than just the two buttes, so I think the article would very quickly become massively unbalanced where 90% was about the protected area and 10% about the landform. Dan Patch award category

Your edit: (removed Category:American Champion harness horses using HotCat - The award isn't a horse)

I included this Category based on the long-standing Eclipse Award. It should be in or out on both. Thanks. Mateusz K (talk) 10:41, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
